"Mommy has some errands to run. I'll be back before you know it," Seraphina coaxed, gently patting his tiny stomach. "See you soon."
"Hold on a sec," Tiffany interrupted. "The delivery I ordered should be here any minute."
"What did you order?"
The moment the words left her mouth, the doorbell rang again.
Susan opened the door to find a delivery driver holding six large tins of Royal Gold Infant Formula.
"Hello, delivery for a number ending in 2256?"
"That's me. Just set them right there by the door," Tiffany instructed.
"You got it."
The driver lined the tins up neatly in the foyer and headed off.
The instant Little Bean laid eyes on his absolute favorite formula, he began squealing with joy.
Seraphina, however, winced in sudden agony. The sheer volume of her son's telepathic cheering was practically blowing out her eardrums.
"Look at my godson, so thrilled!" Tiffany cooed, gently pinching his chubby little hand. "If you could talk right now, you'd tell me you love me to death, wouldn't you?"
*I absolutely love you, Godmother!*
"Oh, I'm sure he loves his godmother very much," Seraphina laughed, softly rubbing her son's cheek. "Can we go now?"
*Go on, go on, before my great mood wears off.*
Seraphina shook her head at him, utterly amused.
"Let's hit the road."
"I'll play with you as soon as I get back, buddy," Tiffany promised.
As they stepped out the door, Tiffany turned to her friend. "Sera, I have a feeling that when my godson finally starts talking, he's going to be a total chatterbox."
*He doesn't need to wait,* Seraphina thought dryly. *He's already a chatterbox.*
Of course, Tiffany was completely oblivious to that fact.
Once outside, Tiffany took the wheel of her SUV.
"Alright, spill," Seraphina demanded. "You definitely didn't drag me out just to go shopping. Where are we going?"
