My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 73

Back in the private room, Seraphina finished her last spoonful of soup and set her bowl down with a satisfied sigh.

Lucian watched her. "Full?"

"Yeah, completely stuffed." Seraphina gently patted her slightly rounded stomach.

Her appetite had been pretty terrible during her first trimester.

But today's food had really hit the spot, and she ate to her heart's content.

Little Bean did a happy roll in her belly, cheering in a milky voice, "Mommy, I'm full too! The food Daddy ordered was so yummy!"

Seraphina couldn't help but laugh softly.

Seeing her look so content, the corners of Lucian's lips hooked up involuntarily.

It seemed he needed to bring her out more often.

Lucian stood up. "Let's go. I'll take you home."

The two stepped out of the room, but as they walked down the corridor, Seraphina suddenly stopped in her tracks.

Through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows of the hallway, she spotted a very familiar figure.

Sebastian Sullivan.

He was sitting in another private room across from a silver-haired older man. They looked to be deep in a business discussion.

Sebastian saw her too.

Their eyes locked for a fleeting second through the glass.

Seraphina was the first to break the connection, tearing her gaze away and continuing to walk without missing a beat.

Naturally, Lucian had spotted Sebastian as well. Smoothly, without missing a step, he reached out and wrapped a firm arm around Seraphina's waist, pulling her flush against his side as they kept walking.

The gesture was fluid but carried an unmistakable possessiveness.

He was making a brutal, silent statement to Sebastian: This woman is mine. Don't even think about looking at her.

Watching Lucian's brazen display, Sebastian's eyes turned turbulent, his fingers gripping his glass hard enough to turn his knuckles white.

The older man sitting across from him noticed his sudden shift in demeanor. "Sebastian? Is something wrong?"

"Nothing. Please continue, Barnaby," Sebastian replied, tearing his gaze away as his face settled back into its usual cold indifference.

But deep down, an oppressive weight settled squarely in his chest, making it hard to breathe.

Yeah, he was seriously pissed off.

In the car.
