"Am I wrong?!" Sienna burst into hysterical sobs. "You were just looking at her patent contracts, weren't you?! You're still hung up on her, aren't you?!"
Sebastian didn't say a word. He simply shoved her off his lap, stood up, and stalked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows.
"The patents are corporate business. It has absolutely nothing to do with her on a personal level," he said, his voice terrifyingly calm.
Sienna didn't buy a word of it. "You're lying! Do you regret choosing me?!"
She was genuinely terrified. She had clawed her way to Sebastian's side, and she wasn't about to lose him now.
Sebastian spun around to face her. "Sienna, stop being irrational. If you keep pushing this, I am going to lose my temper."
The dark menace in his eyes instantly silenced her. She opened her mouth but couldn't string together a single syllable.
Wiping frantically at her tears, she lowered her voice. "Sebastian, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I just care about you so much, and I'm so scared of losing you."
Sebastian remained silent for a few agonizing seconds before finally exhaling a long, heavy breath. "Just go home. Focus on the baby. I'll take you out to dinner tonight."
Sienna nodded meekly, grabbing her purse and dragging her feet as she slowly made her way to the door.
Right before stepping out, she paused and threw one last, desperate glance over her shoulder.
But he was already facing the window again, his back completely turned to her, entirely lost in his own thoughts.
Sienna bit down hard on her lip, a suffocating wave of despair crashing over her.
She just knew he was thinking about that bitch Seraphina.
Pressing her lips into a thin line, Sienna finally left and headed home.
Long after she was gone, Sebastian remained seated at his desk in dead silence.
He picked up the patent renewal proposal again, thoroughly reviewing it several times before finally punching a button on his desk phone.
"Send the legal team up. We need to re-evaluate the feasibility of the upcoming patent renewal."
Hanging up the receiver, Sebastian leaned back in his leather chair, his gaze dropping into a dark, brooding stare.
He had absolutely zero access to Seraphina right now. If he just showed up unannounced, it would probably only piss her off even more.
So, he was sending the lawyers in first to test the waters and initiate negotiations.
......
Meanwhile, Seraphina was lounging at home, casually flipping through a stack of documents.
