Chapter 38

Marie’s POV

I woke the next morning wrapped in warm arms and a pounding headache. I looked up to see a sleeping Colton.

I tried to move away when he tightened his hold.

“Good morning Marie.”

“Good Morning Colton.”

“Are you trying to sneak away?”

“No, I just need to…I need to pee.”

He smiled down at me. “Let me grab you a shirt.”

I looked down and saw I was in nothing but my panties.

“Sh*t!”

He chuckled as he released me from his hold and got out of bed. I noticed he had on joggers. No

shirt but joggers.

He handed me a shirt and quickly pulled it on.

“You don’t remember last night, do you?”

“Not really.” I said, stepping out of bed.

He looked at me from head to toe and smirked.

“The bathroom is behind you, beautiful.”

“Thanks.” I quickly stepped into the bathroom. After relieving myself and washing my face, I felt a little better. But my hair was a little crazy and I really wanted a soda and something to eat.

I walked back into Colton’s bedroom to find him sitting on the bed holding some ibuprofen and a

bottle of water.

“Thank you.” I said as I took them both from him.

“Hunter is making breakfast.”

“Is he mad at me?”

Colton started laughing. “No he isn’t mad. He did have to take a few cold showers last night, but he

isn’t mad.”

“WHAT?

“We can talk while you eat.”

Making my way into the kitchen, I saw the table set and food already piled up. Hunter was putting

the last of the food on the table.

“Good Morning my little nudest.” He said, smiling at me. I knew my face had to be bright red.

I looked him up and down. He calls me a nudest and he is nothing but a pair of boxers that leave nothing for the imagination. Not that I was complaining.

“I’m sorry about last night, Hunter.”

“Do you remember any of it?”

“Not really.”

“I’m not surprised you finished the entire bottle of whiskey by yourself. I can’t believe you didn’t

puke.*

We sat down and started eating in silence. But as soon as I was done eating I needed to know how

I ended up in bed in nothing but panties with Colton

“So, what did I do last night?”

“I assume you remember talking to me about how you were feeling.”

“Yes, but nothing really after.”

“You were taking shots like crazy and rolled your eyes at me when I asked you to slow down.”

“Sorry.”

Hunter just smiled. “Well, you wanted to know if I wanted you, so you took off your shirt. When I tried to get you to ask me after you sobered up, you took off your shorts. You made me chase you around trying to get you dressed for half an hour.”

I put my head in my hands. “I am so sorry.”

“Then you asked me to have s*x with you.”

“OH MY GOSH! I did not!”

“You did and I told me to ask me again when you were sober. So ya going to ask me?”

I rolled my eyes. “But that doesn’t explain how I ended up in bed with Colton.” I said, glancing at

him.

“After Hunter told me he kissed you and what happened with Jackson, I wanted to be here for you. So I drove home immediately to find Hunter chasing you around the kitchen.”

“I told you I would have s*x with you and you happily came to my bedroom.”

My heart started beating faster. I don’t even understand why.

“You decided to remove your bra and laid on my bed.”

I couldn’t even look at him. I was so embarrassed. “Go on,” I whispered.

“I turned off the lights and I got you to go to sleep.”

“I need to know how?” Hunter asked.

“I told her I was tired and needed a half hour nap so I could make her first time special.”

I was dying at that moment. I have never been so embarrassed in my life.

“I am never drinking again.”

Hunter started laughing. “Yeah you will, but maybe not an entire bottle of whisky.”

We all sat in silence for a while until Colton decided to break it.

“Go on a date with me tonight.”

“umm I don’t.”

“Nope, after last night I should be able to at least get a date. Just one.”

“Maybe not tonight. I’m hung over and.”

“Stop making excuses. Go take a nap. I can take you home later to change or Hunter can and I will

pick you up.”

“Fine, but I am going to take a nap now.”

I stood up and started walking to Hunter’s room and realized Colton’s bed was softer and cleaner.

“In your room, so you might want to grab some clothes before I fall asleep.” I said, turning to look

at him.

The smile on his face was huge and he jumped up and followed right behind me.

“Bout time.” I heard Hunter mutter as I made my way to Colton’s room.

I crawled into his bed the second I was in his room. Immediately, I closed my eyes and welcomed sleep. But moments after I laid down I felt the bed dip.

I opened my eyes a second before Colton pulled me closer.

“What are you doing?”

“Taking a nap with you?”

I was too tired to argue. I just let him hold me and soon I fell asleep.

I woke up a few hours later alone but feeling so much better.

Still in nothing but a shirt and panties, I found my bra on the floor and went to Hunter’s room.

He was playing a video game and smile over at me.

“He sexy.”

“Hey Hunt. Umm can we talk?”

He put down the controller and looked at me.

“Sure.”

“First, I’m sorry for my behavior. I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable. Second, about the kiss in the bakery…..”
