Shortly after I come down for breakfast, Hunter came in with Saralynn right behind him.

She looked visibly upset. I jumped from my seat and pulled her into a hug.

I have missed you so much. How is school?”

“I missed you too. School is almost done.” She said softly.

“How about we eat and we can catch up?” I asked)

“Sounds good.”

The four of us ate breakfast and Colton and Hunter filled Saralynn on how drunk I was the day before and me agreeing to my first date with Colton.

“I knew you would give in!” She said, still laughing about me running around naked.

“Hush.” I said, smiling at her.

“So I bet you wonder why I’m home.”

“It did cross my mind. Did Jason come with you?”

“No….He is the reason I came home.”

“Trouble in paradise?” Hunter asked.

I shot him a dirty look and looked back at Saralynn.

“Yeah, I guess you could say that….”

The plan had been that Jason and Saralynn would break up a month or so into the school year. But that has yet to happen.

“Do you girls want some time alone?” Colton asked.

“No, you can both stay. I am sick of lies.” She said.

“Saralynn, think about this.” I said.

“Think about that fact he is off living his life doing whoever he wants and expects me to still be by

his side.”

I glanced at both Hunter and Colton and confusion was written all over their faces.

“Hunter and Colton anything said in this house does not leave this house. Do you both understand?

“I asked.

“Of course,” Colton said.

Chapter 1

“Yeah sure.” Hunter added,

“So the plan was we would break up before Valentine’s Day. But when the tone cou

“Jason is gay and I have been his fake girlfriend for the last 5 years. I have never been on a rea date or really kissed a man….. let alone done anything with a man” Seralynn said with had

“So you’re a virgin?” Hunter asked.

“Yeah in every sense of the word,” Saralynn said, leaning back in her chair

“So why didn’t he want to break up?” I asked.

“He thinks if we break up he won’t be able to hide that he is gay, Put, Marie, he is always going out and the men he spends time with are OK with him hiding their relationships, but he expects meto hide my relationships too.”

“That doesn’t sound good,” I added,

“I went on one date and he lost his stuff on me when he saw me at the movies. How do I explain to

a man that I want to hide our relationship when we first meet?”

“You shouldn’t have to do that,” Hunter said, smiling at her.

“Right! I gave up my entire high school experience for him.”

“You know I had a crush on you in high school?” Hunter said.

“No you didn’t.” Saralynn said and her cheeks flushed.

“I totally did, but you and Jason were a couple from day one of your freshman year.”

She smiled over at him shyly.

“So what you going to do?” I asked, breaking the moment between Hunter and Saralynn.

“I’m coming home after finals and I’m not going back.”

“You’re going to quit school?” I asked, shocked.

“Yeah I hate it and I found a school driving distance from home and I can become a vet tech and that’s what I want to do.”

“Have you told Jason?” I asked.

“Yeah, and we had a huge fight. He said some really awful things to me.” She said, looking down.

“After everything you did for him?” Hunter added, sounding angry.

Chapter 41

“He was so mean. I don’t even want to go back and finish my classes.

“Then don’t go back,” Hunter said.

She smiled and giggled. “I have to and I am so close to finals.”

“Ask your professors if you can finish classes remotely.”

Hunter and Saralynn continued to chat as if Colton and I weren’t even in the room. I couldn’t help but smile. Hunter and Saralynn looked so comfortable together and, for the first time in a long

time, Hunter was smiling and really happy.

The next month went by quickly and I found myself spending more and more time with Colton. He took me out every chance he could until he realized I was just as happy being with hirn. Hunter and Saralynn were spending every minute they could together.

She wasn’t able to finish school remotely but she was only two weeks away from finishing and I swear her and Hunter were on the phone every single night.

It made me happy that they were getting along.

Colton was taking me to a festival the town was having and I had just finished pulling my hair up

into a pony.

“Hey babe!” Colton called as he came into my apartment.

“In the bathroom.”

Within moments, his arms were snaking around my waste and he placed a kiss on my neck.

“These shorts make me want to stay home.” He whispered in my ear.

“Hmmm that might have been my plan.” I said, turning in his arms and kissing him.

“Bella and Emily?”

“They left with Clay already.”

“Are you ready?”

“Yes.”

We walked to the festival since it was not far from my apartment. We played some games and he even talked me into getting on the ferris wheel. As soon as we got off the ride, Abby walked right

over to us.

A very pregnant Abby. “Colton! Hey Colton.”

He rolled his eyes and looked over. “Hi Abby.”

“Do you think we could talk?”

I could feel my chest getting tight. Was this going to be another time he chose Abby over me?

“We don’t have anything to talk about, Abby.” He said, sliding his arm around my waist.

“Just a few minutes. Just the two of us?”

“Abby, if you have anything to say to me you can say it in front of my girlfriend.”

I felt my heart jump in my throat. Did he just call me his girlfriend?

“Oh, I didn’t know you two were together.” She said, looking down.

“What is it that you wanted to say, Abby?” Colton asked, sounding upset.

“I’m being induced next week and incase you want a paternity test you could have it done at the

hospital.”
