I found myself holding my breath. Why would he need a paternity test? Did he keep something

from me again?

“Abby, why in the hell would I need a paternity test? You and I both know that baby is not mine. You

would be 7 weeks overdue.”

Instant relief was all I could feel. I watched as her face turned red. “I just thought…” She said

flustered.

“You thought what, Abby? You know I’m with Marie and there is no chance that baby is mine, but you thought you could cause a problem for us.”

“No I didn’t, I just.”

“Your pathetic Abby. You need to let me go.”

He looked down at me and smiled. “How about we go get an elephant ear.”

“That sounds amazing.”

We walked toward the elephant ear stand. “I’m sorry about her,” he said, kissing the top of my

head.

“I’m glad it happened.”

“You are?”

“I guess a part of me still wanted to know where I stood with her and you and…”

“I’m sorry for ever making you feel that way.”

“It’s ok.”

He smashed his lips on mine and kissed me deeply. “Ya know I don’t think I want an elephant ear anymore,” I said as soon as we pulled away from each other.

“Oh OK, do you want to get something else?”

I couldn’t help but smile. “I’m hungry but it’s not for food.” I whispered in his ear.

It took him a second to grab my hand and start pulling me through the crowd back to my

apartment.

He was kissing my neck as I tried to get the door unlocked. “Do you need some help?” He asked just as I pushed the door open.

I turned around and started kissing him as deeply as I could. He shut the door with his foot and lifted me off the ground and I wrapped my legs around his waist.

Once we were in my room and the door was shut, clothes started coming off. We had been taking things slow. So slow it was almost at a stand still.

But today I knew I wanted him. “Colton.” I said, pulling away.

I was lying on my bed in just my panties and bra and he was still in his jeans but his shirt was somewhere on the floor.

“If you want to stop…we can…I’m sorry.”

I put my finger to his lips. “I don’t want to stop. I want you but I have a question.”

He smiled at me and kissed me lightly. “Ask away babe.”

“Am I your girlfriend?”

“Yes..I mean if you want to be my girlfriend.”

“I do.” I pulled him to me so I could kiss him.

He kissed me slowly and the entire atmosphere in the room changed.

He pulled away and sat up. “I need to tell you something.”

The seriousness in his voice scared me.

“OK.”

“I know we haven’t been together long, but I know how I feel and I need you to know that I am in love with you.”

My heart jumped into my throat. “I love you too, Colton. I think I have for a long time.”

He smiled and kissed me again and started to unbutton his jeans and pushed them down. He unclasped my bra and threw it somewhere in the room. His mouth traveled down my neck and across my collar bone. He slowly peppered my chest with soft wet kisses.

He arched my back trying to get closer to him. He took that as an invitation and began s*cking on my breast as he cupped and fondled the other.

He began lowering himself on my body.

“AUNT MARIE!!”

“Sh*t” I mumbled and he chuckled, his face only inches from my core.

“I guess we will have to continue this a little later.” He said and stood and pulled on his jeans and tossed me my shirt.

“AUNT MARIE!”

Colton and I came walking out of the bedroom.

“I am so sorry guys. Somebody let her have way too much sugar.” Emily said, looking at Clay. It’s ok. Hey Bella.” I looked over to see her standing next to a stuffed giraffe bigger than her. “Guess what? Mommy and Clay are getting married!” She said, jumping up and down.

“What?” I asked, looking at Emily.

She stood there, her cheeks red and a giant ring on her finger. “Clay asked me on the ferris wheel. Well, he asked Bella first if he could marry me and be her Daddy and then he asked me.”

“Yeah, look at my necklace.” Bella said, coming to me. The necklace matched the engagement

ring.

“Guys, I am so happy for you.” I pulled Emily into a hug.

“Congratulations guys.” Colton said, shaking Clay’s hand and then giving Emily a hug too.

“So, um, we wanted to know if Clay could move in with us so we could save for our wedding and a

house?”

“We could split everything into 3rds and I will try to be almost non–existent.” Clay added.

I couldn’t help but laugh. He almost lived with us anyway. “Of course.”

Emily started to get Bella ready for bed and Colton and I went back to my room.

“Do you want to pack a bag and come back to my house?

“Sure.”

“Why don’t you bring some extra clothes? I cleared out some drawers from my dresser and I have half of the walk–in that is empty.” He said with his face red.

“OK, I like that idea.” I said, turning around, only to hear him exhale. Had he been holding his breath waiting for me to answer?

After saying goodnight to Emily, Clay, and Bella, we climbed into Colton’s truck and headed to his

house.

We pulled in as Hunter and Saralynn were getting out of his truck.

“Hey guys.” Hunter said, pulling Saralynn to him.

I wasn’t sure what was going on with Hunter and Saralynn but they were both happy and that was all that mattered.

“How was the festival? Hunter asked me as we made our way inside.

“It was good. Did you guys make it?”

“Yeah we did, but we didn’t stay long. We ran into Becca.”

I glanced over at Saralynn but she seemed not to care.

“How did that go?” Colton asked, sitting on the couch and pulling me down to him.

“When did that happen?”

“We talked about it a few days ago.” Saralynn smiled.

“Good you need a good woman in your life.” Colton added. “Now, if you will excuse me, I am going

to take my girlfriend and we are going to our room

He stood up and picked me up. “I can walk, Colton

“Save your energy.” He whispered.
