Colton started laughing and I am sure it was due to the pure panic on my face.

That was the start of the wedding planning. The second we told Susan, she started planning. I honestly thought Susan and Charlie would think we were rushing into marriage but they felt the

opposite.

Over the next three months, we found that Abby’s baby was not Clay’s or Colton’s. But we didn’t care enough to keep tabs on who the father was

As for Hunter and Saralynn, they were doing great and getting closer. In fact, Hunter said he felt stronger for her than he ever did with Becca. Jason still hadn’t called, but I knew he would once his

pride was no longer hurt.

My birthday was quickly approaching and I needed to head back to Florida to deal with the finalizing of my inheritance from my grandmother. I was set to get the last installment of the

money she left me.

I had still managed to save almost all of the money she had left me with no idea of what I should do with the money. I already had two weeks off from the bakery and now it was a matter of seeing if Colton would go with me.

I could no longer wait to ask him. I kept putting it off, afraid he would say no.

Pushing the food around on the plate and trying to formulate how to ask him.

“Marie? Are you OK?”

“Oh yeah everything is fine.” I said, smiling up at him.

“Yeah? Cause I asked you a question but you never answered.”

“I’m sorry honey.”

He sat his fork down and took my hands in his. “What’s on that pretty mind of yours?”

“I have to go back to Florida the Monday after my birthday and I wanted to know if you will go with

me.”

“Of course.”

“Really?”

He belted out a loud laugh. “Yes pretty girl. You were afraid I would say no?”

“Sort of.”

He kissed me softly. “I would go anywhere with you”

With that, we planned our first real vacation together. Colton had never been to Florida and I

couldn’t wait to show him around.

Three weeks later, we were stepping off the plane in Florida.

“Dang it’s hot.” Colton said the second we stepped out of airport and walked toward our rental.

I couldn’t help but giggle. I loved the heat.

“Come on, I can’t wait to show you around.”

After checking into our hotel, I took him to my favorite little access to the ocean.

“Do you want to go swimming?”

“Of course. How can I come to Florida and not go swimming in the ocean?” He said, pulling his

shirt off.

I was still in awe of his body and the fact it was mine.

He pulled me to him and whispered in my ear. “You can have all of me later, my love.”

I smiled and pulled off my sundress. I looked over at Colton and he swallowed and smirked at me.

I pressed myself against him and whispered, “you can have all this later.”

I turned and ran into the water with him right behind me. He scooped me up and I wrapped my

legs around his waist.

“I love you so much.” He said, kissing me again.

After spending a few hours at the beach, we showered and headed to dinner.

I took him to a local restaurant that I used to love when I lived here.

“So this is one of your favorites?”

“Yeah, I didn’t eat here often, but when I did it was always my favorite.”

“Hi, my name is Chantelle. Can I get you two something to drin……”

I looked up to Chantelle. My supposed best friend was waiting to take our order.

“I will have water with lemon and my beautiful fiancé will have water without lemon.”

I could see her looking at me but I smiled at Colton. He knew me so well and I loved hearing him

call me his fiancé.

She turned and left.

“Do you know her?”

“That is my supposed best friend that slept with Luca.”

“Oh, I thought she was a stripper…what kind of restaurant did you take me to?”

We both started laughing.

She brought out water and took out orders. I decided the best course of action was to ignore the

fact I even knew her.

When our meal was complete, we made it about 3 steps from the restaurant when I heard

Chantelle yell at me.

“Marie!”

I turned to look at her.

“Yes.”

“You… You look good.”

“Thank you.” I turned to walk away with Colton holding my hand.

“I’m sorry.”

I turned back to face her and gave her a weak smile.

“Congrats on the engagement.” She said, biting her lip.

“What do you want, Chantelle?”

“I missed you. It’s been over a year and I just…I got myself clean and I don’t strip anymore.”

“Ok.”

“Do you think…do you think we could start over?”

“I’m happy you got clean and I hope everything works out for you, but we can never be friends again. But know, I forgive you for everything.”

“Please can we try again?”

“No Chantelle. I can’t.”

With that, I turned to Colton and we walked away.

“You ok?”

“Actually…. Yes I am. I know what it’s like to have real friends and she gave me closure. I am happy she is taking care of herself, but I am really good.”

“Good because I have a day planned for us tomorrow for your birthday.”

I woke the next morning to Colton kissing my body. After an amazing morning of love making, he ordered us room service,

We then had a couple massage and for lunch he took me to my favorite food truck.

“You remembered?”

“I remember everything about you, Marie, You said this was your favorite food truck and that they had the best Cuban food ever.”

I couldn’t believe he found the food truck. I know it sounds silly, but the food is amazing and I would rather have the food from the food truck over a 5 star restaurant any day.

“You are the best!”

After lunch, he took me out on a boat that he rented. It was amazing and relaxing. I couldn’t believe he actually listened to everything little thing I had told him.

After being on the boat all day, I was exhausted, but he still had a romantic dinner set up for us on our balcony,

This had to be the best birthday ever.

The following day, we were making our way to my Grandmother’s lawyers‘ office. I had already filled Colton in on the details and I was a bit confused as to why I needed to visit the office.
