Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 120

"Stephanie, you're close with Mr. Gonzalez. For the sake of our past friendship, please ask him not to sue me. I'll do anything to repay you in the future."

Stephanie looked at Victoria, finding the situation absurd. "Why should I help you? What are we to each other? Do you think I'm some kind of saint?"

This woman was ridiculous.

Did she think that just because Stephanie had bailed Quennel out, she was a sucker to be used over and over again?

The only reason Stephanie hadn't dealt with her was that she didn't want to get her hands dirty.

Victoria bit her lip, about to say more.

Just then, Serena walked out from the coffee shop next door.

She pulled Victoria behind her. "Stephanie, will you ever stop? Why are you always picking on Victoria? You've already resigned, what are you doing back here at the company?"

Stephanie was baffled.

Seriously, was this woman insane? Why was she slinging mud at her?

"Do you own this street? Is your name written on it? I can't even be here?"

Serena then turned to Victoria. "You're a wealthy heiress, why are you begging her? You have Mr. Gonzalez to back you up. Even if Verdant Grove Capital sues you, Mr. Gonzalez can support you."

Serena had seen the video of Quennel's signing ceremony that had gone viral a while back.

She had also seen the comments below, saying Quennel had a fiancée who was his childhood sweetheart.

Even the company Quennel worked for was owned by his fiancée's family.

Serena had never imagined Victoria's background was so impressive!

She was an heiress, yet she was always so low-key.

Just a few days ago, Serena had seen Victoria taking the bus to work.

Watching Stephanie's retreating figure, she said, "Serena, Stephanie is always so sarcastic. Does she not like me?"

Serena comforted her. "She probably just hates the rich! I've seen plenty of people like her. They can't stand to see others better off than them. It's just the green-eyed monster. Don't pay her any mind! You're an heiress, she's a country bumpkin. You two are not from the same world."

Victoria clenched her fists, a thoughtful look on her face. That's right, she thought. She and Stephanie were not from the same world.

Two days later, Stephanie started at her new company.

It was an electric car company, and its car brand, OALA Group, was one of the top new energy vehicle brands on the market.

First thing in the morning, Stephanie went to find her friend in HR to get her employee badge.

OALA Group's offices were located in a Class-A office building. Stephanie's office was spacious. She put down her backpack and, with her friend leading the way, went to meet her direct supervisor.

Hannah Scott was in her early forties, with a chic, ear-length bob. She looked sharp and capable.
