Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 167

The brooch fell out and skittered across the floor.

Stephanie froze, terrified someone might accidentally step on it. She immediately bent down to pick it up.

Seeing her groveling on the floor, desperately searching for the scattered pieces, Vivian sneered.

"It's just some off-brand junk. Why are you treating it like a treasure? Look at you, Stephanie. The esteemed daughter of the Jackson family. How did you end up so pathetic?"

"Oh, right. Your family is dead and gone, and Susan's remarried. There's no one left in the Jackson family. You're not the 'esteemed daughter' of anything anymore."

"No wonder even Quennel dumped you. With your current status, you're not worthy of him."

"It's a good thing they're dead."

With a final, provocative smirk, Vivian turned to leave.

Stephanie's face turned to ice.

She had reached her limit.

As she was crouched on the floor, Stephanie hooked the heel of her shoe around the hem of Vivian's gown.

Caught off guard, Vivian, with her head held high in arrogance, didn't see it coming.

By the time she realized what was happening, she felt a sudden coolness across her chest.

She looked down to see her strapless gown had slipped down below her bust, exposing her transparent bra.

Being flat-chested, Vivian had stuffed her bra with numerous silicone pads to fill out the dress.

While she wasn't completely exposed, what was revealed was far more embarrassing.

Now, all of it was on display for everyone to see. Vivian clutched at her chest, her face turning bright pink with humiliation.

Several men in the crowd cast lecherous glances her way, their eyes openly appraising her.

She yanked the dress up, barely managing to cover herself.

Vivian glared furiously at Stephanie. "Stephanie! What do you think you're doing?!"

Stephanie looked up with an innocent expression. "What's wrong?"

"You just..."

It wasn't surprising to see Stephanie at Susan's birthday party.

What was surprising was the gown she was wearing...

Tobias stared at Stephanie, then at Quennel, who was standing not far away. His head swiveled back and forth between them like a prairie dog.

What the hell was going on with these two?

He pulled out his phone and started walking as he dialed. "Jonathan! Jonathan! Business trip? Your wife is about to run off with Quennel, what kind of business trip are you on?"

With a click, Tobias sent a photo to Jonathan's phone.

"She's cheating on you, man! You need to get to the hotel and catch them in the act! I saw them, they were all over each other, heading upstairs to get a room! If you don't get here now, Jonathan, I can't stop them!"

Above the grand ballroom was, conveniently, the hotel itself.

If seeing them embrace last night could be dismissed as a misunderstanding...

What about them publicly wearing matching outfits?
