Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 230

On a weekday morning, Jonathan left for a business trip.

When Steven came to pick up the suitcase, he casually mentioned to Stephanie that the trip had been planned for a while.

But on the day of Susan’s birthday party, when she was being cornered, Jonathan, who was already at the airport, had turned around specifically to come back for her.

Stephanie’s fingers curled slightly. She looked up at the tall, imposing Steven, a bit dazed. “Well, please thank your boss for me.”

Steven maintained a professional smile. “Mrs. Vasquez, I think that’s a message your boss would prefer to hear from you directly.”

The car pulled away, and Stephanie blinked.

Jonathan really was a good person, she thought.

During the week he was away, she would definitely take good care of his house.

The “good person,” Jonathan, had just boarded his plane.

He leaned back in his seat, his posture relaxed. The wounds on his back had mostly healed after two days of rest.

In the seat next to him, Tobias wore an all-knowing expression.

“Feeling blissful again, Jonathan?”

“Finally got a taste of the good life, Jonathan?”

Jonathan shot him a sideways glance.

He stared at Tobias' sleazy grin, his tone unreadable. “Don’t think I don’t know you’re jealous.”

“I wouldn’t dare. I’m happy for you. Your perseverance has finally paid off,” Tobias said with a grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

Jonathan replied politely, “Thanks.”

“That beating from your old man indirectly brought you and Stephanie together. When you get back from your trip, absence will have made the heart grow fonder. Stephanie will miss you like crazy! She’ll probably throw herself into your arms and cry!”

Could that be true?

This trip would last at least five or six days. Would Stephanie… actually miss him?
