Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 237

After leaving the room, Victoria walked out of the hotel.

She watched the three men go inside, a faint smirk playing on her lips.

Morgan had been quite efficient. She’d asked him to pick three good-looking men, and he had delivered, finding three whose looks and physiques were top-notch.

Victoria waited for the right moment, then dialed Quennel’s number.

“Quennel, it’s me.”

The moment he heard Victoria’s voice, Quennel was about to hang up.

She spoke quickly, “Don’t be in such a hurry. I’m calling about Stephanie. Don’t you want to hear what’s going on?”

Hearing Stephanie’s name made Quennel pause.

“What about Stephanie?” he asked.

“Quennel, you’ve always blamed me for breaking you two up, haven’t you? Well, I’m telling you now, she’s the one who doesn’t want you.”

Quennel’s brow furrowed. “What kind of nonsense are you spouting?”

“I’m at the Yates family's hotel. I just saw Stephanie take three handsome men… into a room.”

“What did you say?” Quennel’s breath caught in his throat.

Victoria continued, “I had no idea she had such a huge appetite. Is one Jonathan not enough to satisfy her? She ordered three at once. I wonder if she’s been playing around like this for a while. Do you think she was ever really clean?”

Quennel’s face darkened instantly.

He could be heard getting out of a car on the other end of the line. A car door slammed, and Quennel practically sprinted into the Yates' hotel.

He happened to be nearby on some business tonight.

“Which room? Victoria, did you do this to her? Stephanie would never do something like that!”

Almost instinctively, Quennel chose to believe in Stephanie.

They had been together for over twenty years, practically growing up together. He knew Stephanie wasn't the kind of woman Victoria was describing.

His Stephanie had a thing for cleanliness and was very particular. If it hadn’t been for Jonathan’s sudden appearance, he would have been the only man in her life for years.

“88th floor, room 888. But Quennel, this has nothing to do with me. I just happened to be passing by and saw it.”

Victoria tried to distance herself from the situation. “Otherwise, why would I have called to tell you?”

Quennel immediately pressed the button for the 88th floor. “If not you, then who?” he demanded coldly.

“It was Morgan,” Victoria said without hesitation. “I overheard him saying he was doing it to get revenge on Stephanie. He’s the one who paid those men.”

Morgan?

The name sounded vaguely familiar to Quennel.

About a year or two ago, Morgan had gotten drunk at a party and had nearly forced a kiss on Stephanie.

In a fit of rage, Quennel had beaten the man up. It was the first time he had ever resorted to violence.

Having been trained in self-defense since he was young, Quennel had sent Morgan to the hospital with just a few punches.

After that, people in their circle took the hint, and Morgan had been ostracized.
