Next Man, Better Plan novel Chapter 250

That foolish girl. Why didn't she tell him?

Jonathan's heart ached.

As a man, letting his woman suffer like this made him feel incompetent.

He returned to the hospital room and gently took Stephanie's hand. His deep eyes were soft, filled with pain for her.

He stared at Stephanie's sleeping face, unwilling to look away.

A moment later, Steven entered quietly.

"Boss, you just got off the plane and haven't adjusted to the time difference. This will take a toll on your body. You have that business forum to attend tomorrow afternoon. Why don't you get some rest?"

The business forum would be televised, and the internet had been buzzing about it for days.

Afterward, Jonathan had an exclusive interview. It was his first public appearance in front of the media, and he needed to be at his best.

Jonathan gently waved his hand. "It's fine. I'll watch over her, in case she has a nightmare and I'm not here."

Steven was taken aback.

It seemed Jonathan intended to stay up all night.

The hospital bed was too narrow for two people.

Steven fell silent for a moment, then quietly excused himself.

Jonathan suddenly called after him, "That thing we brought back, find a suitable designer for it as soon as possible."

During his business trip to South Africa, Jonathan's schedule had been packed, but he had still made time to visit a local auction.

The region was famous for its diamonds.

Jonathan had outbid everyone to acquire the prized possession of the largest diamond tycoon—a colored diamond of unparalleled size and quality.

"Isn't there a popular brand right now, what's it called… Glimmering… Glimmering Jade."

Jonathan lowered his voice, worried he might wake Stephanie. "Go find the designer from Glimmering Jade. Have them draw up a couple of designs."

Steven nodded. "Understood."

Stephanie suddenly received a call.

Seeing it was from the owner of Glimmering Jade, she answered.

"I've got a huge commission here. The client is offering over ten million. You in?"

Still shaken from her ordeal, Stephanie wasn't in the mood and doubted she had any inspiration. "I think I'll pass."

"What? But the client said your previous designs really appealed to his boss. It's for a diamond ring for his boss's wife. Are you sure you want to pass?"

"The diamond has already been sent to the studio. I've been in this business for so long, and I've never seen a diamond so pure, so flawless. It's a real eye-opener…"

Stephanie said, "I'm sure. I'll pass."

The man sighed. "Alright, then I guess I'll have to do it myself!"

Stephanie smiled. "You can do it. You're the owner of Glimmering Jade, you deserve to earn that design fee."

"But I'm just the backup plan… Anyway, I have to go. The deadline is tight, so I need to get to work."
