Silas finished speaking, then added lightly, as if it were an afterthought, “And when you come back from Beast God Mountain, bring some Beast God fruit. Emy’s stash is gone.”
Alaric’s expression darkened. “Silas, let me warn you–being Emma’s primary mate doesn’t give you free rein. Do you believe Beast God Mountain is your own territory? Spot something you desire, and you take it?”
He scoffed to himself. Those fruits aren’t prizes for the idle. Only sweat and devotion to the Beast God earns them.
Silas only faintly smiled, his eyes hinting that he already knew the answer. “So, you’re agreeing to go.”
Alaric fell silent for a moment.
“Hmph!” He held back the impulse to hit Silas, leaned back, and assumed a detached, almost bored demeanor.
His gaze met Silas‘, unflinching and unfriendly.
“I can go,” he uttered flatly. “But what’s in it for me?”
Silas seemed to expect that question. His expression remained calm and kind as he answered, “The benefit is simple. I won’t stop you from becoming Emma’s mate.”
Alaric suddenly sat upright, his eyes narrowing and piercing as he looked directly at Silas. “Dare to swear that to the Beast God?”
Silas nodded and raised one hand. “I swear to the Beast God. If I’m lying, may I die a bad death.”
“Deal.” Alaric stood at once, turned, and strode toward the door without the slightest hesitation.
The observatory door shut behind him.
Lucien finally spoke, asking, “When you mentioned Earth earlier… was that about Emma?”
Silas lifted his teacup, took a slow sip, and replied evenly, “You should ask Emy that yourself.”
Lucien frowned, showing his displeasure with the answer, but he quickly shifted the topic, “You’re really not stopping Alaric anymore?”

He clearly remembered that Silas wasn’t very friendly to Alaric earlier.
“Did I ever stop him? Silas looked up with a faint smile.
He hadn’t

From the beginning, he had said only this: if Erna didn’t want it, he wouldn’t let Alaric near her. Jealousy had never been the reason.
Lucien looked at him, momentarily speechless.
Reflecting on it, Silas never explicitly stated he would force Alaric to leave. His actions always depended on Emma’s response.
That line is nothing but bait. Lucien sighed to himself. In the art of manipulation, Alaric is a child playing against a master.
Lucien was about to leave when another idea popped into his mind. He questioned Silas, “Are you and Corvin keeping something from me?”
Silas set down his teacup and looked at him with a calm, steady, unreadable expression. “Your Highness, are we now at the point where we can share everything with each other?”
Lucien cast a wounded look at Silas. “After everything we’ve been through–life and death–I thought we were almost like best friends.”
“Oh?” Silas raised an eyebrow, his surprise precisely controlled, as if the idea had only just crossed his mind. He extended a hand toward Lucien, grinning broadly. “If we’re best friends, then give me two of the fleets you just built.”
Two fleets? Tsk, tsk. The nerve of him. Lucien eyed Silas‘ outstretched hand and smiled, his sincerity unwavering. “Let’s not test our friendship like that. That’s one request I truly can’t grant.”
Silas‘ smile didn’t fade. “Then, Your Highness, please keep some distance from me.”
In other words, Silas was basically telling him to leave or vanish. Expecting answers for free? He was never so charitable.
“Come on, I really can’t give you those, Lucien replied, sitting beside him. “You’re a commander, so why would you even need fleets
Silas spoke coolly, “If I want them, then I have a use for them.”
Lucien pressed his lips together and considered briefly. “I can’t give mine, but I can take someone else’s and give it to you.”

Then, he added, “In return, you answer my questions.”
“Fine.” Silas nodded, thinking Lucien would discover the truth eventually anyway,
Lucien reached for his lightcore and called Calun right there in front of Silas,
Meanwhile, Calum was sharing fruit with Emma when Lucien’s name appeared on his lightcore. He frowned.
“What is it?” Emma asked.
“Lucien’s calling,” Calum replied, tilting the screen so she could see.
She frowned as well when she saw Lucien’s name. “Didn’t he just go back to his room?
“Pick up,” she said. “Ask what he wants.”
Inwardly, she wondered, We’re already this close. Why call Calum now?
“Alright.” Calum nodded and accepted the call.
“Marshal.” Lucien’s voice came through immediately. “Is Emma with you?”
Calum flicked a glance at Emma to check her reaction. She shook her head. Then, he replied, “No. What do you need?”
