He remembered that Edric had once told him that Emma hated being kept in the dark about matters concerning herself.

“What is it?” she asked, her expression turning serious.

“Let’s talk in my room.”

“Okay.”

Then, he accompanied her to the top floor.

Once inside, Emma took his hand and led him to the couch by the window.
