Corvin studied the image on his lightcore and nodded in satisfaction, pride practically glowing off his face.
“Done! Emma, come look–I nailed it. This is master–level photography.”
He eagerly shoved the lightcore toward her.
Emma leaned in with anticipation. However, the second her eyes landed on the screen, the smile on her face froze.
In one photo, she’d been caught mid–blink, eyes half–rolled like she was possessed. In another, the wind had plastered her hair across her entire face.
And then there was the worst offender–a bizarre angle that somehow made her look five feet tall.

“This is what you call master–level?” Emma turned to Corvin through clenched teeth.
Corvin, still basking in admiration for his “art,” didn’t notice her expression darkening.
“Yeah! Absolutely!” He pointed enthusiastically at the screen. “Emma, look how adorable you are. In this one, you look so tiny. I‘ could wrap you completely in my arms. And this one? Your hair covering your face–it’s mysterious, atmospheric…”
Emma seriously wanted to smack him. She stared at the photos and held it in… until she finally snapped. “Screw you.“–
What on earth are these? And he has the nerve to call them cute? Is he blind?
“Screw me?” Corvin blinked in confusion. “Emma, what are you talking about?”
She was completely speechless. Calm down. Don’t lose it. Don’t argue with an idiot. We’re out having fun. Stay positive.
She inhaled deeply, forced a smile that required Olympic–level effort, and explained, “They’re… cute, but I’m not thrilled with them. You should delete them.”
There was absolutely no way those disaster shots were being allowed to exist.
“What?” Corvin looked stunned. “You don’t like them?”
They are adorable! How could she not like them?
“No, I don’t,” Emma said firmly.
He might have adored them, but if she didn’t, he had no choice. Reluctantly, he deleted them in front of her. “Okay… I’ll delete them. I’ll just take new ones.”
“No need.”
The moment she saw the photos vanish, Emma immediately shut down that idea. She had no interest in seeing another round of “creative” portraits.
With that, she turned and walked away.
She didn’t want to see his face for the time being: Even she had limits.

Watching her leave, Corvin quickly ducked into a corner and quietly reopened his lightcore, restoring the deleted photos.
Emma told him to delete them but never said he couldn’t recover them.
See? I am clever.
When they got home, he’d print them out and hang them in his lab office. Emma never went there–she’d never see them.
After admiring the restored photos, Corvin had a thought. He sent them directly to Silas.
Silas hadn’t been able to come out with Emma today; he’d be thrilled to see pictures of her.
He sent every single one.
Then, he added, “Silas, I know you couldn’t come with Emma today. Must’ve been rough. Here, these are the photos I just took. Figured you’d want to see. That’s what brothers are for. No need to thank me.”
Silas, meanwhile, was stuck in a meeting and on the verge of dozing off.
When Corvin’s photos popped up on his lightcore, he almost lost his composure on the spot.
He lowered his head and covered the corner of his mouth, barely suppressing a laugh. Didn’t Emy kill him for taking pictures like this? She’s being incredibly generous.
He was just about to reply when another message from Corvin came through. “Silas, do not tell Emma I sent these to you. She sai she wasn’t satisfied and made me delete them. I secretly restored them. She can’t find out.”
Silas‘ reply came instantly. “You never sent me anything. I saw nothing.”
Absolutely not.
If Emma found out, she’d skin him alive.
He had no intention of getting dragged into Corvin’s nonsense.
Corvin nodded in satisfaction at the response. He knew Silas was reliable.
Then, out of nowhere, Lucien’s voice sounded behind him. “Corvin. What are you sneaking around doing?”
Corvin nearly jumped out of his skin. “Yikes!”
He instinctively shut off his lightcore and turned around to find Lucien and Edric standing behind him.
“I wasn’t doing anything.”
Lucien raised a brow. “If you weren’t doing anything, why do you look so guilty?”
Edric added calmly, “I just saw you messaging Silas. It looked like you sent photos. What exactly were you sending so secretly?”
