No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1402

And yet now, Carl just casually agreed to having the house searched. Mia wondered if it was because Carl was sure that they would not be able to find Noelle at the house at all, or if it was because they had been suspecting the wrong people all along.

Both Blake and Frank exchanged a glance with each other and followed Carl back into the house.

Frank turned to Barnaby and said, "Prepare some food for the guests. They're all really exhausted."

Everyone had stayed up the entire night and had probably not been eating or sleeping well for the past few days as well.

Cedric was not in the mood for a meal on the couch after he entered the house. He just went straight upstairs to Noelle's room.

Carl watched as Cedric headed upstairs. His expression grew cold as he said, "Do you think you can just go into Noelle's room as you please? Do you think I would hide her in her own room if I were really trying to hide her away?"

Cedric just pretended not to hear Carl and continued heading upstairs into Noelle's room.

It was empty just as he had expected, but the room had some of Noelle's photos and personal belongings. Cedric sat down on the edge of the bed and covered his face before collapsing onto it. He was thoroughly exhausted.

Noelle's scent still lingered on the bed, making him feel as if she were still right beside him.

The living room downstairs remained silent throughout.

Alfred looked at the food laid out in front of him and picked up a sandwich. "I'm sure none of us ate a proper dinner last night. Let's eat something to fill ourselves up right now."

Mia nodded in agreement. Everyone needed energy to keep up with the search after all.
