No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1413

Noelle glared at Carl and asked, "What have you done!"

Now, she understood why he'd seen her in that parking lot and turned to leave. Back then, he must have already decided to smuggle her away.

"As far as Cedric and the others know, you're already dead. This is the only way to keep you by my side and make sure they never find you," Carl calmly explained.

Noelle clenched her teeth and hissed, "You're disgusting! Cedric would never believe any of that!"

"I have my ways to convince him."

"This is just pointless," she snapped.

"Is it? Over time, he'll forget you and move on to start a new life. Nobody stays obsessed forever."

The cold certainty in his tone angered Noelle so much that she could barely hold back from stabbing him there and then.

Carl gestured toward the breakfast and continued, "Eat. You do want to see Cedric and your friends again in a month, don't you? If you starve yourself, you'll never get that chance."

Noelle turned to the breakfast and muttered a curse under her breath. Sure enough, he'd read her mind.

After Carl walked out, she quietly finished the food. Now that she knew she was on an island and her safety was guaranteed, there was nothing left to worry about.

Her only priority was to find a way to escape, or at least get word to Cedric. It didn't seem like a big deal.

She didn't know how Carl had staged her death, but Cedric wasn't a fool and would suspect something. All she needed was to wait for her chance patiently.

Plus, she knew that back when they were investigating the island, they'd planted a contact here. Though she didn't know who or where that person was now, they'd notice if she could make herself seen.

When she was done eating, she opened the door and stepped out. She had to see this place for herself.

The person who'd brought her food approached and asked, "Are you going out, Ms. Liddell? I'll have someone show you around."
