No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I'm Done novel Chapter 138

**Chapter 138: Confrontation**

Ethan stood there, utterly at a loss for words. He felt an urge to defend himself, to argue his case, but every potential rebuttal crumbled under the weight of Amelia’s unyielding logic.

Every single point she made resonated with an unsettling truth.

When he answered Isla’s call earlier, his thoughts were consumed by a singular focus—Hannah. The deal with Mason hadn’t crossed his mind for even a fleeting moment. His heart had been racing, driven by an instinct to rush to Hannah’s side, to be there for her in her moment of crisis.

Yet here he was, attempting to shift the blame onto Amelia and Mason, as if doing so might somehow alleviate the heavy burden of guilt that hung over him like a storm cloud. But Amelia was having none of it. She dissected his excuses with surgical precision, leaving him feeling exposed and pathetic.

“You…” Ethan’s voice quivered, a mix of frustration and disbelief. After a long, agonizing pause, he finally managed to spit out an accusation that felt as hollow as it sounded. “You’re becoming colder and more unreasonable!”

“Really?” Amelia responded, her laughter sharp and laced with mockery. “Ethan, the truly unreasonable one here is you. You expect your wife to feel sympathy for your plight while you’re busy nurturing feelings for another woman. You wield your guilt like a weapon to manipulate my sense of morality. And now that I refuse to play along, I’m the cold-hearted one?”

She took a bold step forward, her gaze piercing through him with an icy intensity. Involuntarily, Ethan found himself taking a half-step back, as if her presence alone was enough to intimidate him.

“What exactly have I done wrong?” he demanded, his voice rising with a mixture of anger and desperation.

“You!” Ethan’s body trembled with rage, his hand instinctively lifting as if he might strike her.

“Enough!”

Fiona’s voice sliced through the tension like a knife, sharp and commanding.

“Ethan, stop talking right now. You were in the wrong tonight.”

Her words hung heavily in the air, and Ethan felt a chill run down his spine.

“Mason coming to our home was an enormous favor to our family. And you, as the future leader of Rowe Group, chose to prioritize your personal drama over such a crucial meeting. What do you think people will say if this gets out?”

Ethan’s complexion drained of color, and he pressed his lips into a tight line, stifling any retort. In the Rowe family, he could unleash his frustrations on Grace or act with arrogance toward Amelia, but Fiona was a force he never dared to confront.

Fiona continued, her tone unwavering, “But Mason has agreed to give us another chance.”

“What?” Ethan’s head snapped up, disbelief etched across his face.

“He didn’t take offense at your absence. He said you can arrange a time to visit his company to present your proposal in person.”

She paused, letting the weight of her next words sink in. “Mason has more grace than you do.”

Her statement served as both a reassurance and a stinging rebuke, a reminder of his shortcomings.

Ethan felt the tension in his shoulders dissipate, if only for a moment.
