Chapter 162 A Misunderstanding Set in Motion
There was no emotion in his voice.
Amelia quietly held her breath.
That small, unrealistic hope in her heart faded away.
See? She really had overthought everything.

Feeling embarrassed by her wild thoughts, Amelia lowered her head at once and fiddled with the panda plush in her arms, lightly tugging at its ear.
“Oh… I see,” she replied softly and did not ask anything more.
At the same time, at the Rowe family villa.
In the study, Ethan received a message from a friend.
“Ethan, guess where I saw your wife today?”
Ethan frowned and replied casually, “She went to her studio today.”
“Studio? Are you sure?” The other side replied quickly, with a teasing tone.
“I saw her at Solara Zoo, with a man. They were laughing and having a great time. Oh right, they were even wearing matching couple outfits.”
Matching outfits?
Ethan frowned and rejected it almost at once.
“That’s impossible. You must have seen wrong.”
Why would Amelia go to the zoo? And with another man?
She was always quiet and disliked crowded, noisy places
Yet the other person seemed to expect his disbelief. The next second, a photo was sent.
The background showed lush trees and busy crowds inside the zoo. The image was not very clear, likely taken in a hurry.
But Ethan recognized the main figure at once.
It was Amelia.
She wore a simple white T–shirt and was slightly tilting her head, speaking to the man beside her.
Only her profile was visible. He could not see her full expression, but the curve of her lips and the light in her eyes made one thing clear. She was in a very good mood.
Beside her stood a tall man. Only a blurred back and side profile were captured, his face unclear. But the white T–shirt he wore was exactly the same as hers.
It really looked like couple wear.

A wave of fury exploded in Ethan’s chest.
He stared at the photo, teeth clenched, face dark.
Fine. Amelia. Very well done.
She claimed she was going to the studio, but instead went on a date with another man?
Wearing matching outfits?

How had he not noticed before that she had the nerve to do something like this right under his nose?
Ethan grabbed his phone and car keys. Driven by anger, he only wanted to confront her face to face.
But just as he reached the window, bright headlights approached from outside.
A sleek black sedan stopped steadily at the gate of the Rowe villa.
Ethan narrowed his eyes.
He recognized that car. It belonged to Mason.
The next moment, the passenger door opened, and Amelia stepped out.
She was holding a large panda plush almost half her height. Standing by the car, she bent slightly toward the driver’s seat, as if saying goodbye.
Ethan froze where he stood.
Seeing Amelia step out of Mason’s car did nothing to calm his anger. It only made it burn hotter.
Yet he did not connect the man in the photo with Mason at once.
In his mind, someone as cold and proud as Mason would never go to a zoo with Amelia or do something so childish.
So there was only one explanation.
Amelia had gone on a date with some random man. It got late. To avoid suspicion at home, she deliberater asked Mason to cover for her, creating the illusion that she had been visiting the Everett family.
She had played him for a fool.
And she even dragged Mason into helping her lie.
That thought made Ethan feel more angry and humiliated from the betrayal.
