Chapter 205 I’ll Be the Judge
Amelia slowly lowered her phone from her ear.
Her mind was buzzing, a dull roar echoing in her head.
He thought he had her by the throat.
He thought that without him–without the Rowe Group–she would be nothing.
Amelia sat at the edge of the bed motionlessly for a long time.
At some point, the night outside the window had grown heavy, swallowing the entire world in darkness.
After a long while, she slowly lifted her head.
In the darkness, her eyes held nothing but a deep, icy stillness.
The corners of her lips slowly curved into a bone–chilling smile.
Amelia picked up her phone again.
Without hesitation, she replied to Tim.
“I accept the position as a final–round judge for the design competition.”
Tim responded quickly with a simple OK emoji.
Since Hannah dared to openly plagiarize her work and enter the competition, attempting to climb over her using Amelia’s blood and sweat, Amelia didn’t mind attending the finals in person.
As a judge, right in front of the media and the entire industry. She would personally rip off that fake, benevolent mask and nail Hannah to the pillar of shame.
She would make everyone see what kind of ending a thief truly deserved.
At the same time, in the room next door, Mason had also noticed Hannah’s recent small
maneuvers.
He had always paid close attention to Amelia’s designs and knew her style intimately.
So after only a brief glance at Hannah’s published works, he immediately spotted Amelia’s unmistakable imprint.

The man’s expression turned cold at once as he took out his phone and called his secretary.
“Get a professional appraisal and compare Hannah’s published works with Amelia’s designs.”
“Yes!”
The secretary moved quickly after receiving the order.
Not long after, Tim also sent Mason a message.
“Amelia has accepted the role of judge for the design competition.”
Such a major decision, yet from the moment she learned about it to the moment she agreed, she hadn’t discussed it with him at all.
Mason pressed his lips into a thin line, displeasure surfacing.
His thoughts drifted again to Amelia’s sudden emotional shift.
An inexplicable restlessness rose sharply in his chest.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the floor–to–ceiling windows as the estate awakened in quiet serenity.
Amelia hadn’t slept well.
Ethan’s sharp, merciless words continued to echo in her mind.
As she sat by the window, absentmindedly gazing at the neatly trimmed garden outside, the sound of a car engine and a child’s laughter rose from downstairs.
Not long after, Mason walked in holding Hayden’s hand.
“Wow, Daddy Mason, this place is so beautiful!” Hayden looked up in awe. “When did our family get a place like this? Why have I never been here before?”
He tugged at Mason’s sleeve, asking seriously, “Is this your secret base?”
Mason lowered his gaze, the usual cool detachment in his eyes softened by rare warmth.
He even joked, “Yes–just like the journal you hide under your bed. No one else is allowed to see it.”
Hayden’s face instantly turned red as he protested, “I don’t have a journal! That’s not a diary— it’s my hero handbook!”
At that moment, Tania pushed Amelia out from the side sitting room in her wheelchair.

Hayden’s attention was immediately drawn to her.
Seeing Amelia seated in the wheelchair, he let go of Mason’s hand and hurried over, his face full of pure concern. “Aunt Amelia, are you okay? Does your leg still hurt?”
The child’s clear, bright voice instantly eased some of the chill in Amelia’s heart.
She forced a gentle smile. “It’s much better now. Thank you for worrying about me.”
As she spoke, she cautiously moved her injured ankle. “I can already stand on my own and walk a few steps with a cane.”
“Really? That’s great!” Hayden’s eyes lit up. Eager to share, he excitedly said, “I’ve already started at a new school! It’s huge. When your leg is fully healed, I’ll invite you to visit!”
Amelia’s heart softened involuntarily. She asked patiently, “Is that so? Do school? How are you getting along with your classmates?”

At the mention of classmates, the sparkle in Hayden’s eyes dimmed briefly.
He tilted his head, thinking, and muttered with slight frustration, “It’s mostly okay… just that a few classmates aren’t very likable. During breaks, they like to surround me and keep asking about my family–asking what my dad does, how many cars we have…
Amelia didn’t think much of it, assuming it was a normal childhood comparison.
After all, in an elite private school like Hayden’s, most children came from affluent families, and probing into backgrounds was common.
She comforted him gently, “You don’t need to pay attention to them. Just play with the friends you like.”
“Okay!” Hayden nodded vigorously, his energy quickly restored.
He turned to look at the bright sunlight outside, golden light spreading warmly across the lawn.
A brilliant idea popped into his head.
Eyes sparkling, he excitedly suggested, “The weather’s so nice today–how about we go camping?”
