No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I'm Done novel Chapter 30

**TITLE: My Heart Waited Too Long and Choosing Freedom**

**Chapter 30: She Wavered. Then Held Firm**

Amelia had thought she could slip away without drawing attention, but fate had other plans. From the shadows, Ava Turner, a keen-eyed member of the Design Department, had caught sight of her as she made her way to her car. Ava’s curiosity sparked as she watched the sleek luxury vehicle glide down the road, disappearing into the distance.

Inside the car, the atmosphere was thick with unspoken words, a tension that seemed to wrap around them like a heavy blanket.

Amelia fixed her gaze on the window, her mind racing with thoughts, unwilling to break the silence that enveloped them.

Ethan, however, found that oppressive quiet unbearable. It gnawed at him, an invisible weight pressing down on his chest. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke, his voice tinged with frustration. “Amelia, I’ve apologized already, haven’t I? Why are you still acting like I’ve committed the ultimate sin?”

Her response was flat, devoid of any emotion. “That’s just who I am. You know that.”

In that moment, time seemed to come to a standstill. Ethan’s mind raced as he contemplated the plans he had for the evening, a complex mix of emotions flickering across his face.

As they approached a red light, a sudden impulse took hold of him. He turned the steering wheel sharply and pulled into a temporary parking spot by the curb.

“Wait here,” he instructed, unbuckling his seatbelt before stepping out of the car.

A few moments later, he returned, holding a bouquet of bluebells, their delicate blooms wrapped carefully in simple kraft paper.

The soft, bell-shaped purple flowers seemed to glow in the evening light, their beauty striking against the backdrop of the setting sun.

He handed the bouquet to her, his voice softening, almost awkwardly, as if he were trying to mend the rift between them. “These are for you. Can you please stop being mad now?”

Amelia stared at the bouquet, her mind swirling with memories. She had rarely shared her preferences with Ethan, but once, long ago, during a time when their relationship had been filled with laughter and warmth, she had mentioned her fondness for bluebells. She cherished their quiet beauty and the meaning they held—blessings from afar.

In that moment, she had thought he had forgotten all about it.

Yet here he was, proving her wrong.

Perhaps this man wasn’t as lost as she had led herself to believe.

As she gazed at the flowers, a flicker of warmth began to thaw her icy demeanor.

Looking up at Ethan, a faint smile graced her lips. “Thank you,” she replied softly, the words barely above a whisper.

The car soon pulled up outside an elegant private restaurant, one that Amelia adored for its inventive fusion cuisine.

Ethan had clearly made an effort to remember her tastes.
