Chapter 521 Used and Discarded
The dress had layers and layers of fabric covered in tiny rhinestones that sparkled under the lights. It looked super fancy and expensive.
Hannah looked at her masterpiece with satisfaction. Then she glanced around at the other contestants, who were still rushing around in a mess. She felt totally confident.
She was sure she had first place in the bag,
However, she seemed to have completely forgotten about her promise to help the others.
Once the staff had carefully moved her dress to the finished area, she just poured herself a glass of water and relaxed. She ignored the teammates who had helped her but were now falling behind.
Eventually, someone realized something was wrong.
A girl standing behind her, sweating and rushing to finish her work, stopped and asked, “Hannah, yours is done. Can you come help me out? We said we’d help each other, right? Why are you just sitting there?”
Hannah turned around slowly. She looked at the girl’s half–finished dress with a look of disgust.
‘Help each other?” she scoffed. “That depends on who I’m helping and what they’re making. Look at your design. It’s so tacky. Does it look high–end to you? With this level, you still came to compete? Honestly, stop wasting the fabric. You’re not making it to the next round anyway.”
Her mean comments left everyone shocked.
Only then did people realize that her so–called teamwork had just been pure exploitation.
‘Hannah! How can you talk like that?” one of the designers she had used shouted angrily, standing up. ‘Why didn’t you say that when we were helping you carlier? Now that you’re done, you just throw us away? Do you have no shame?”
‘Exactly! We were blind to trust you!”
Even with everyone yelling at her, Hannah didn’t flinch.
She coldly glanced at the designer who had taken the lead in calling her out, her eyes full of warning.
“You’d better watch your words. Be careful how you speak.
‘Otherwise, I’ll sue you for slander. We’re all adults here. You should take responsibility for what you say.”
After throwing, out that warning, she ignored the group of designers who were shaking with anger but didn’t dare argue anymore. She walked straight to the lounge area, poured herself a cup of coffee, and
watched the chaos from a distance like it was a show.
But as she looked around, she didn’t see Amelia among the busy contestants.
She couldn’t help feeling confused.

Chapter 521 Used and Discarded
Where did that woman go?
Isn’t she competing as a contestant?
Or is she scared by the harsh rules and backed out?
The more Hannah thought about it, the more she believed it was the second reason.
Finished
After all, rumors had already spread that Amelia only got in through the back door. In a round that required real skills, no one would be willing to help her.
She was just a seamstress who made evening gowns. It would make sense if she ran away at the last minute.
Thinking about this made Hannah feel even better.
Time slowly passed. Soon, night fell. It was finally time for the contestants to present their designs.
Backstage. Hannah’s runway order was pretty early.
Even though she looked calm, her knuckles were white from gripping her clutch so hard.
She was actually super nervous. This competition wasn’t just about honor, it was her only gamble. She had basically bet all her future on it.
To calm her nerves, she peeked through the gap in the stage curtains while the first few designers went on.
The first contestant showed a modified traditional dress. It was okay, but the fabric was basic, and it didn’t really pop.
The second contestant presented a dramatic gown. The idea was cool, but you could tell they rushed it. It looked messy up close, and there were even loose threads hanging off of it.
After watching a few more, Hannah realized their designs were nowhere near as stunning as hers.
The tension in her chest slowly eased, and her confidence quickly grew.
So this so–called top design competition is nothing special after all.
She curled her lip in disdain and sneered to herself.
When it comes to design, who needs originality?
Everything in the world gets copied in some way. Design is the same.
As long as the reference design is good and the style looks trendy, who’s going to check where your inspiration came from?
