Chapter 529 Breaking In
She blinked her eyes open, and the first thing she noticed was Mason’s scent. Then she realized she was clinging to him like an octopus, with her arms and legs draped all over him.
Amelia’s brain lagged for about three seconds before she totally snapped awake.
She quickly lifted her head and met Mason’s smiling eyes. She asked in disbelief, “H–how did you get in remember locking the door last night!”
Seeing her messy bedhead and confused face, Mason chuckled, clearly in a great mood. He leaned dow and kissed her lips.
“You did lock it,” he said slowly. “But I know how to open doors.”
Amelia followed his gaze and turned to look at the door.
The lock on her door was now hanging there in a horribly twisted shape, with several obvious scratch marks around it. It looked completely wrecked.
That wasn’t opening a door. That was breaking in.
She turned back, annoyed. “Mason, since when did you learn how to pick locks?”
Mason reached out and easily pulled her back into his arms before she could get up. He held her close. h voice was low and hoarse, like it always was in the morning. He leaned in and whispered in her ear, “Last night. I learned it just for you.”
He held Amelia’s small chin, making her look at him. The smile in his eyes grew deeper. “Still mad?”
The alcohol had worn off, and most of her anger was pretty much gone, too.
Honestly, with him being this charming and persistent, it was impossible to stay mad.
Still, she huffed stubbornly, buried her face in his chest, and muttered, “I’m mad! I’m not talking to you!”
“Alright then.” Mason laughed. The hand around her waist slowly started sliding upward, clearly not behaving, his voice full of dangerous meaning. “Then I’ll cheer you up a little
Obviously, the way he planned to cheer her up was definitely not just saying sweet words.
Amelia’s body instantly stiffened.
She still had to go to work today, and… the door lock was already broken!
She couldn’t guarantee that someone else in the house wouldn’t just stroll by at any moment!
After quickly weighing the situation, she immediately gave in.
“I’m not! I’m not mad!” she said quickly, grabbing his wandering hand. She looked up with a flushed face and said sweetly, “I’m not mad anymore!”

The hand around her waist finally stopped moving. He lightly bit her lip again, like a small punishment, then let her go.
“Alright, no more teasing,” he said in a low, gentle voice. “I’m afraid of making you get too upset.”
Amelia puffed out her cheeks, the blush on her face still not yet faded.
She gave him an annoyed look, then glanced at the destroyed door lock and complained, “Well, you’d better fix it! How am I supposed to feel safe staying here alone with the door like that?”
Mason got up and stretched. The lean lines of his abs and waist showed faintly through his thin pajamas, giving him a rugged charm.
He grabbed his phone from the bedside table to check the time and said nonchalantly, “Let’s just leave it for now. The weather’s nice today. We can go find a renovation company later.”
That reminded Amelia of what he said before about moving out of here.
Renovating the new house should already be on the schedule. She stuck out her tongue a little, looking embarrassed. “Ah, about that… I didn’t get to it yet. I was so busy being a judge yesterday.”
Then she hesitated and added, “I also ran into Hannah.”
Mason’s eyes immediately turned sharp.
‘Did she cause trouble for you again?”
Amelia shook her head and leaned against the headboard, slowly telling him the whole story. “Not really. To be precise, she just ruined herself.
She wanted to win first place in the competition so she could make a comeback and get famous again. Too bad for her, she plagiarized my work…
After she got caught, they dragged her out. Ethan told me he sent her away to Porteria, and she won’t show up in front of me again.”
Mason let out a mean, sarcastic laugh.
Amelia looked at him, confused. “What’s wrong? Didn’t Ethan handle it pretty thoroughly?”
Mason didn’t answer right away. He stood up and analyzed the situation coolly. “Ethan is so naive. Or maybe the old feelings he still has for Hannah deep down keep him from dealing a fatal blow.
“Sending her to Porteria might look like he’s getting rid of her, but in reality, he just gave her a brand new place to play her games.”
