Chapter 532 Pedro Everett
“Get in,” Mason said, keeping it short.
Amelia opened the door and sat in the passenger seat. The warm air inside the car helped her relax a little after a tense morning.
But when she thought about Clara’s face and that so–called family dinner, her brows slowly furrowed again.
Mason was very sharp. The moment she finished buckling her seatbelt, he noticed something was wrong.
He didn’t start the car right away. Instead, he leaned closer, his deep eyes fixed on her face.
“What’s wrong? Did Tim give you too much work? Are you exhausted?”
As he spoke, a dangerous look flashed in his eyes. One hand rested on the steering wheel, as if he were ready to call Tim and give him a piece of his mind the second Amelia nodded.
Amélia couldn’t help laughing a little at how protective he was. The dark mood in her heart eased a bit.
She shook her head. “No. It’s not Tim.”
“Then what is it?” Mason wouldn’t let it go, leaning even closer. His warm breath almost brushed the tip of her nose. He stared straight into her eyes and threatened, “Tell me now, or I’ll kiss you right here.”
Amelia’s heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks warmed.
This guy was getting more and more shameless every day.
She knew he wasn’t kidding. She couldn’t risk embarrassing herself like that in this open parking lot where someone might walk by at any moment.
She helplessly pushed against his solid chest. There was no arguing with him, so she gave in. “Alright, alright. I’ll tell you,”
She took a deep breath and briefly explained what had happened during the day. “Clara came to see me. She insisted that I go back to the Harlow Estate this weekend for dinner.”
Mason’s expression darkened.
He straightened up and leaned back in the driver’s seat.
“Who’s going to be there?” he asked coldly.
Amelia recalled Clara’s evasive manner and said. “Besides the Harlows, it sounds like Beatrice’s boyfriend and his family will be there too. I don’t know who her boyfriend is. But the way Clara acted… She looked nervous but also proud. Like she didn’t want me to know, but still wanted to show off;”
Hearing this, Mason suddenly sneered.
Amelia’s heart tightened for no clear reason.

“If my intel is correct,” Mason said, turning to look at her with dark eyes. “Beatrice’s boyfriend should be
Pedro.
“Pedro Everett?”
Amelia’s eyes went wide. She couldn’t believe it. “How could it be him?!”
She hadn’t stayed with the Everetts for very long, but Pedro left a stronger impression on her than anyone
else.
He was Mason’s uncle’s son–technically Mason and Evan’s cousin.
Back then, after Mason’s dad died in an accident, the huge family business should have been taken over by Pedro’s dad, the second son of the Everetts.
But out of nowhere, Pedro’s dad got sick and died right after taking over.
At that time, Evan and Mason were still young, far too young to handle a huge company like Everett Group.
Amid family trouble and outside pressure, Wilda Everett stepped in. She shut everyone down and took control of the family with an iron fist.
Pedro’s father had been her most beloved son. Losing him before her time broke her heart. Because of that, she poured all her love and guilt into Pedro and spoiled him even more than Evan and Mason.
Even so, Pedro didn’t seem interested in taking over the family business. In everyone’s eyes, he was the ypical rich brat. He spent his days partying, driving sports cars, dating models, and spending money like water. There was always a carefree, playful smile on his face.
But Amelia knew it was all an act.
Behind that harmless smile was a twisted, dark heart.
Because she had seen his other side with her own eyes.
One afternoon in the garden of the Everett estate, Evan handed Pedro a nicely wrapped gift box and gently said it was a present he brought back from overseas.
Pedro smiled brightly, took the gift, and even hugged Evan’s arm. “Thanks, Evan! I love it.”
The scene looked like a perfect picture of close brothers.
But the second Evan turned his back, Amelia happened to look down from a second–floor window. She saw Pedro’s smile disappear instantly, replaced by a twisted, hateful expression. He looked at the gift as if it were something dirty, then threw it on the ground.
