No Sex for Six Years Because of Her? I'm Done novel Chapter 73

**TITLE: My Heart Waited Too Long and Choosing Freedom**
**Chapter 73: In the Closet**

Before Amelia could fully absorb Nora’s last words, a hand with unmistakable knuckles shot out, decisively gliding across her phone screen to terminate the call.

Startled, Amelia looked up, her heart racing, only to find Mason had somehow managed to lean in closer than she had anticipated.

The space between them had shrunk to nearly nothing, so much so that she could see her own startled reflection mirrored in the depths of his dark, intense eyes.

That fleeting moment of eye contact felt like a searing flame, igniting a rush of panic within her. She quickly averted her gaze, desperately trying to regain her composure.

Mason straightened, his posture rigid, and his voice remained as frigid as ever. “I’ll inform Lily to prepare the contract. Don’t make me call my mother again.”

His tone was laced with an unmistakable threat, a clear indication that he was wielding Nora and Evan as pawns to ensure her obedience.

Amelia felt a surge of frustration and anger as she clenched her fists, her heart pounding against her ribcage. She nodded, her mind racing with thoughts of defiance, but knowing she had little choice in the matter.

With his objective accomplished, Mason showed no inclination to linger. He cast a brief glance at the pasta resting on the coffee table, now cold and unappetizing. “Your pasta is cold,” he remarked, almost dismissively.

With that, he turned on his heel and strode toward the door, leaving a trail of tension in his wake.

Just as he reached the entrance, a knock echoed through the apartment, causing Amelia’s heart to skip a beat.

“Who is it?” she called out, her voice a mix of anxiety and urgency.

“Amelia, open the door. It’s me.”

Ethan’s voice sent a jolt of panic through her. Why on earth would he show up at this hour?

Mason remained a towering presence in the center of the living room, and Amelia felt as if she were caught in a bizarre, tangled web of emotions.

She had no time to think through the implications of the situation.

Rushing toward Mason, she lowered her voice, urgency lacing her words. “Mr. Everett, please, just give me a moment.”

Without waiting for his reply, she reached out and grasped the sleeve of his tailored suit.

Beneath the luxurious fabric, she could feel the warmth of his firm muscles, and the sensation sent a tremor through her fingertips. Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to release him as she pulled him toward a small storage closet nestled beside the living room.

Inside, a few of her personal items lay scattered, remnants of her life that felt oddly exposed in this moment.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered, pushing him inside and swiftly shutting the door with a decisive click.

Once the door was closed, Amelia inhaled deeply, trying to quell the frantic beating of her heart.

She smoothed her tousled hair, took a moment to collect herself, and then walked to the entrance, opening the door with a façade of calm.

Outside, Ethan stood with an impatient expression, his brow furrowed.

As soon as he stepped inside, his sharp gaze swept over Amelia, scrutinizing her from head to toe before he spoke, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Took you long enough to open the door, Amelia. Don’t tell me you’re hiding a man in here?”

“Why are you here?” Amelia shot back, irritation bubbling beneath the surface. “If there’s nothing urgent, I’d appreciate it if you left immediately. I don’t want any trouble.”
