Austin
He had them remove those necklaces they wore, when he found out that was what was keeping them hidden from the otherworldly creatures. Even little Ocean had been wearing one, though he didn’t recall her having done that before. Once they were removed, he could scent them all out.
It did not surprise him in the slightest to scent a kin bond, they had all bled themselves to each other to create that. Something that Maddie had researched into over the years. Likely when Ana had come along, he now realised. It was also why Sloan hadn’t picked up a lie when they stated they were sisters. Because they actually were.
He and Sloan were getting a good smell of them, and he looked at his lovely Mate. This was a full female Alpha Unit, they just didn’t have a pack to reign over. They even had a little Alpha pup to take over in the future. Though they’d not been known to each other in the beginning, they had all just come together over the years and opted to align themselves to each other. Become a family.
Londyn, he found, was the youngest of the group, she was alpha-blooded and had no pack scent as Maddie had told him in that sss. He wanted to bring her into his pack. She needed to have a pack scent for protective purposes.
Londyn, however, just shook her head, ‘no’ at him, and so he’d had to take the time to explain to her just how dangerous it was for her to be out there with no discernible pack scent. What could happen to her if she was taken by those that used those of her kind. She still didn’t care. Had shrugged it off, “I’ve got Zara, and I’ve been safe with her my entire life since shifting for the first time.”
He’d frowned at that and gotten them to tell him their backstories. He needed more information, though he suspected that was to do with Zara being a female Gamma. She could influence male and female pack members with that charm of hers, unlike male Gammas who could only Charm females. He had his own thoughts on why that was, but left it alone.
He’d stared at Londyn as she’d told him her tale, it was pretty much the same for all of them out there they found and saved, a human mother pregnant to an otherworldly creature they knew nothing about. Gave birth unbeknownst to their child’s father, so pack-less but not a rogue at the same time.
She’d also never come across him and had that kin bond kick in, and from her moving about all the time, he didn’t think she was going to either. The only way to sort that out was to take her to the Wolfen Kingdom for the Annual Alpha Meeting held by the king, even if she didn’t come across her father. A brother or uncle, nephew or cousin even, would feel the kin bond and hunt it out to see who it was.
He was a little disappointed that not one of them would give up their home-pack names to him. They had obviously sat and discussed this day between themselves, knew or suspected it was coming, he supposed.
Though if he’d not walked Sloan into that café it was unlikely he’d ever have known what they were, she-wolves all of them. The only story he didn’t get in full detail was Ana’s, and that he knew was because her little girl was sitting right there listening to them all. He had no idea what she’d told her Alpha-blooded daughter about her conception.
But Ana was not about to state it in front of Ocean. When he’d tried to push her on it, she’d cut him off, had looked right at her girl pointedly and he’d gotten the message. But that little girl knew not only what they all were, but not to say anything to the humans as well, and was, he had learned attending kindergarten out there in the human world, her first day today.
After she’d gone to bed, he’d pushed Ana on the subject once more, and she’d stared right at him, seemingly unfazed by him being an Alpha-blooded wolf himself, though that was likely to do with her being pure Beta-blooded herself. All she’d stated on the matter was “What does it matter?”
“He’s going to hunt that little girl.” He’d told her.
“He doesn’t even know about Ocean, I never told him, because he told me he’d found his Goddess-Gifted Mate, and Alpha female. I left. The next day, after he stabbed me in the back, I was his Beta and he chose to pass me over, the day I was going to tell him, for my brother. He’ll likely have pups with her now. My daughter is just that; my daughter. I severed all ties to that place, my kin bonds as well.” she told him.
He was staring at her now and Sloan put a hand on him, “Leave it Austin.” She told him, likely picked up on something he’d not, he thought. “They are all happy and safe, Londyn’s status is the biggest issue. Not little Ocean. Well, not for what, 11 years anyway.” she shrugged it off. “But I think that can be resolved easily.”
Sloan had looked to Londyn. “How about a compromise? You accept Austin as your Alpha, and then just reject him. You’ll have a rogue scent like all your sisters after that.”
Austin frowned right at his Mate, was she crazy? He didn’t want to leave any of them out here alone. Londyn muttered something about she’d think about it. Stubborn, just like an Alpha he’d thought, even though she’d only known what she was for four years. Likely heard a lot from her sisters.
“As for your businesses, I can register them with the Wolfen Council. It’s just a minor infraction nowadays, lots of rogues we’re finding hold human lives and own a business or work in the human world to earn a living for themselves. When they are banished or flee a pack. It’s not their fault that they have no Alpha to register their business.
“Nothing Wolfen would go on your café, but there will be an official Wolfen Council certification number on your website, to show it’s legitimate, and you will have to pay 10% of your revenue to us like all wolfen businesses do.”
“Before or after, the human taxes eat me alive.” Maddie muttered.
“After, for rogues. Before for pack members, though it is seen as a tax ride off to the human taxation department, a donation to a legitimate charity, “Save the wolves foundation.” I’ll make sure you all get the proper details, for all your incomes,” he looked at them all, knew Maddie was likely to have more, Londyn had a business, Zara worked as a model, his eyes fell on Ana “What do you do other than work at the café?
He’d sighed a little because she had him on that one. “I guess Maddie, I could look into having some of those funds allocated to some sort of rogue wolf assistance. Though strict rules would have to be applied to it, or we’d be helping the ones were hunting, that snatch she-wolves… You see the problem with what you want?”
She huffed by way of an answer and dropped the subject, so he turned to Londyn “I need a decision from you, young lady.” He stated in all seriousness.
Londyn, however, had stared at him and then burst out into a full gale of laughter, “Me, a young lady.” She’d slapped her own thigh in amusement and shoved Zara “you hear that, a young lady.” And Zara was laughing along with her. “I ain’t no young lady.” Londyn had snorted
“Londyn seriously, I, as the Wolfen Council, can’t leave you out here in the human world, with no pack scent. We have our own rules and laws. If you don’t agree, I’ll have to make you. I don’t want to but…” he trailed off.
“Fine, but I’m staying here with my sisters.” She finally agreed somewhat begrudgingly.
He’d waved her over to him and used one of his own claws to cut his palm, not having his ceremonial blade on him. His claw would do, Oakley would hold the wound open, he cut her palm as well and put their hands together “Londyn Forester, do you accept me, Alpha Austin of Winter Moon as your Alpha?”
“Sure.” She muttered.
He frowned deeply at her now, as nothing happened, no connection was even started. He raised an eyebrow at her. “It’ll only work if you mean it, I however, can make you now, my blood is meshed with yours.” And he could he was pure-blooded, could forcibly bleed her to him. It would, however, hurt her and ruin their friendship that had formed over the past few years.
She huffed “Fine, I accept you Alpha Austin and the Winter Moon pack as my Alpha.” she stated, and there it was, the connection forming between them.
The minute it was done, and he let her hand go, she issued a rejection of him as her Alpha and turned herself rogue. Then she snarled at him as she felt the pain of being severed from him and the pack. “You didn’t tell me it was going to hurt.”
