Londyn
She’d been in the café all week, left her human gallery manager in charge of running the place due to Ana not being at work all week; needing some time off, after what Peirce had done to her is how she’d explained it to those that asked after Ana.
Had now seen who they all believed was Ocean’s father, one Alpha Slade, and his Beta Vance in the café.
Though she was quite annoyed that only those two came into the café, and had herself come to the conclusion, it wasn’t him.
She’d picked up that scent on the full moon, had been woken by the feeling that Ana had suddenly been on the move and fast, had felt something, she had thought was fear streak through Ana, and it had brought her from her sleeping state.
She’d focused on Ana and felt her over there on the other side of the lake, and yes she was on the move, heading north away from where she knew Peirce to live, had gotten herself up and out of bed, pulled on a dressing gown and slippers and made her way outside, after checking in on Ocean; who’d still been in her bed.
She’d stepped outside after making coffee, only to scent a wolf that was not Ana. It had come to her just minutes after she’d stepped outside, and it was not something she’d smelled before. Apple had lifted her head right up and breathed in deeply and then growled a little inside her mind, as the realisation of what was happening hit her.
She could feel Ana running fast, likely it wasn’t actually Ana, but China, and they were fleeing away from something or someone. Her eyes were on the lake, both Ana and that scent that she now understood would be her own Mate’s scent, were both coming from the other side of the lake.
A part of her was excited at the prospect of finding her Goddess-Gifted Mate. She’d heard tails from her sisters about what it was supposed to be like. But she was now also a little terrified at the same time, because Ana was on the run and from a wolf.
A wolf that Londyn was now certain was going to be her Goddess-Gifted Mate. He was out there hunting Ana. Was he a bad wolf? A rogue male that would hunt and hurt Ana? She’d not grown up inside a wolf pack, didn’t truly understand their wolfen ways. Hadn’t even bloody known what she was until after Apple had ripped out of her and Zara had come along and calmed her down, explained it to her.
Never had she come across a wolf in all the time she’d grown up with her mother, or with her grandmother, not even with how many packs were out there. She just somehow managed to never be near a pack she supposed. Or, thankfully, any that would snatch her and sell her on the black market.
Now she had a Mate, and she feared that, that wolf was out there right that minute trying to capture Ana for that very reason, had figured out what she was, and was hunting her to harm her, or sell her.
Thankfully, Ana had returned safely. Londyn had still not told anyone about it because the moment Ana had told them who he was, the Delta from her old pack, she knew she couldn’t. That was a place Ana had abandoned after being betrayed by all those around her.
She herself had once been apart of that unit, who had turned against her. Knowing all this, she nor Apple had known what to do, they had a Mate, but was he good or bad? A Mate that would bring Slade right to Ana an Ocean, if she accepted him, something Ana didn’t want.
Ana had knocked that wolf unconscious, and she didn’t doubt that Ana had only done it to get away, and didn’t really blame her either. Although she and Apple had not like hearing it; that she had just left him out there unconscious, and he’d fallen down into a ravine, a five-meter drop to the ground. But she had steadfastly kept her mouth closed on the scenting out of her Mate.
He’d also not gotten up and come for her. She knew what a Mate was, and that when you scented one, they scented you back. Hunted relentlessly to claim what was theirs, or to reject them even. He had not come for her, and she knew why. It was one of two things.
Hunting Ana had been more important to him, or he’d not had the chance to scent her out, she’d not smelled him until she’d gone outside and by that time, he would have been unconscious or that’s what she’d taken from what Ana had told them.
But all week long she’d worked in the café, did all of Ana’s shifts in the hope that she would lay eyes on the man or wolf, Yuri, his name was. To see what her Mate looked like, to see if she could still scent him out, couldn’t smell him most of the time, though she had found at times it did come to her on the breeze.
It was confusing to her, she’d not known at the time if she would always know who he was, or did it go away after the moon phase was over, but now she understood she’d always know. She’d wanted to ask all those annoying questions, but couldn’t without them asking, why she suddenly wanted to know and raising suspicion.
Considering it had been on the full moon when that wolf had turned up, she had asked a few casual questions on the morning and gotten a couple of frowns from Ana. So she had dropped the subject in the end.
When that Alpha and Beta had come into the café, they’d seemed like nice men, smiled and Vance the Beta was more than interested in Zara, and he was making it plainly clear, the man was all charm.
Though Zara had flirted back a little, she wasn’t interested, just shook her head after he left, and had muttered twice now “He thinks he’s the Goddess’ gift to women.”
Vance was right there before her, smiling at her, and she snapped “What do you want?”
The man blinked, and all four of them looked right at her, more than shocked by her sudden change of attitude. She could also feel Zara’s eyes on her, but her annoyance, had just notched up as she and Apple, realised he had no idea what she was to them and had looked past her to Zara even.
They now understood that yes, he had been unconscious when they had scented him out, likely woken up after the moon phase had passed as well. She looked right at Vance as she stood all the way. “Zara is not for you, go away.” and she snapped her fingers at her own Mate, as she looked right at him, “You, come here and order.” she stated and looked back to the other three “You lot, go and sit down.”
“Come on Londyn, it doesn’t hurt to let me talk to your sister.” Vance muttered at her.
“Maybe she doesn’t like it.” Londyn stated flatly “Is nice to you, just because you’re a customer.” she watched him frown “It’s boarding on harassment now.”
Slade, she had now confirmed was the Alpha of this unit, put his hands on his own Beta and turned him away. “Yuri, put our order in.” he stated, and walked his own Beta from the counter.
She looked right at Yuri and waited, she wanted to smell him all long and deep, but couldn’t do so. That was considered a very wolfen thing to do. Not only would all of them pick up on it, so would Zara as well.
“What can I get for you, Yuri, was it?” she smiled at him, though knew it wasn’t entirely friendly, she was still annoyed.
“Yes, you’re Londyn.”
“I am.”
