Zara
Slade’s beast finally stopped running; they were well over an hour east of the town of Greenville, when she got her first look at his beast, all black and quite large, like most Alpha wolves she supposed. His beast’s tail was flicking back and forth and his ears were flat back on his head.
Although he had finally stopped running, and she’d managed to catch up to him, he was still angry and in pain. It was more pain, she realised, as Jetta walked slowly towards him. They didn’t want to startle him, and she wasn’t wearing her necklace right that minute, and it was very unlikely he would know who they were.
He might not care to in his current state of mind; she did not relish getting into a fight with that wolf before her. He was nearly twice her size. She could fight, but wasn’t about to take on an alpha wolf.
She was only a few feet away from him when his wolf turned and looked right at her, though its tail still flicked angrily, she felt no actual aggression coming off it, there was nothing at all aimed at her. He simply turned to see the wolf that was there; didn’t consider her a threat at all.
Zara wondered if he did know who her beast was, it would be plainly clear she was a rogue and female, he’d also pick up her bloodline, and he’d seen her in Gamma mode with Ocean at the café the other day. He was she realised putting it all together right this minute.
She even felt the moment they recognised her, and he was not at all concerned about her in the least. Jetta stood watching him, and they could feel his pain still, though she couldn’t help him while still in wolfen form. “Shift us back, Jetta. He’s not going to run again, and he’s not going to hurt us.” She understood that, if he was, he would have attacked them already.
Jetta shifted her, and she walked over to the large wolf, reached out a hand to touch him, wanted to use
the full force of her Gamma’s Charm on him. Slid her hand over his wolf’s head and spoke gently to him, rolled her charm right at him and he didn’t fight it. He understood himself that he needed it right now, she thought.
Touching him, she could now feel it, his pain in full. Understand it even, he was hurting, because back inside his home-pack his own… she wanted to think parents, but that was not how he saw them. He only thought about them as the current Alpha and Luna. That was a little odd to her.
But that Alpha and Luna, they were causing his little sister to be in pain, had threatened her, and he felt betrayed her, like they had done him… he was hurting because he wasn’t there to help her, to stop it. That she’d kept it from him. He thought that his sisters’ pain, was his fault, and he blamed himself for what was happening to her, back in the pack by those two people.
She rolled more of her charm at him and his beast lay down on the ground, she sank down with him and smiled when his tail curled around her, she was out there naked in the snow, and she leaned into him to a little to help keep warm. But she kept her charm rolling gently.
She could feel it, how much he hated them, his own Alpha and Luna, who were his parents. Slade and his beast hated them, but needed them at the same time, she reached for that and felt it, the reason why. She closed her eyes; Ana was the reason why. What they had done to her. There was a lot more going on than Ana knew, it seemed.
“It will be alright.” She told him with a sigh “She’s not heartless, just…” how did she even state what Ana was? But she felt it come from him. His own thoughts on Ana, ‘broken’ was how he thought Ana felt. Slade thought Ana was broken, because she may have been once for him to see, but she wasn’t anymore.
“Not really, or not anymore.” She murmured in response to his feelings. As she watched his wolf lay its head down on its paws, he seemed quite comfortable in her presence, wasn’t at all concerned about letting her use that Gamma Charm on him. Maybe he needed someone to understand him and no one could.
Her head turned at the sound of footsteps, and she could smell it now, Beta blood on the wind, it was not Ana, so it could only be Slade’s Beta, Vance. Great! And she was out here naked, just what that man likely wanted, to see her naked. It wasn’t something she wanted, he was already attracted to her, had been before he’d even known she was Ana’s sister.
She flicked her long red hair down over her body to keep it covered, it did fall to just below her bottom and was thick; covered her well. He was right there a few minutes later. Came to a halt at seeing the two of them, looked from her to his Alpha’s wolf, shook his head slightly but said nothing.
He was carrying clothes for not only his Alpha, but had, it appeared, stopped to collect hers along the way as well. His eyes met hers, and he smiled right at her, but kept his eyes on her eyes, didn’t slide them down over her body as she’d expected him to. “You dropped something.” He told her and walked over and handed her, her clothes.
“Mm, I’ll get going seeing as you’re here.” she stated as she took them, but didn’t put them on, held them in front of her body. “Your Alpha, he needs to go home and deal with his parents on his sister’s behalf.” She told him.
“We’re not likely to leave until Slade gets to talk properly with Ana.” Vance shook his head at her, and she didn’t need her Gamma Charm to know he was telling the truth.
Ocean was easy to understand; she had separated parents but didn’t know the reason why they weren’t together. Got only basic details and that now didn’t add up to her, because he’d not been shocked to see her. Didn’t have a Mate like Ana had told everyone he had. Though they were all confused about that, Ana really did believe he’d had one. He’d told her he did. So what the heck happened to the woman?
‘Everyone’s here bar you. I had to tell them what happened.’ Londyn interrupted her thoughts.
‘Alright, I’m about an hour out. Jetta’s just trotting along happy to be out in wolfen form.’
‘Do you want me to come and collect you, though I’ll have to bring the truck, the Jeeps going in for repairs, got a cracked radiator and the grills busted up. I had to call a tow truck to come and get it’
‘Oh, how’d you get home then?’
‘Hmm, well… Yuri and Palmer brought Ocean and I home. I didn’t see a point in hiding where we live, and apparently their in the B&B just a block away, heard the accident and just knew it was Slade, came out to check on him.
‘Oh.
‘They both reassured Ocean, that Slade would be alright. Palmer even went and got blankets from the B&B to wrap around both myself and Ocean, while we waited on the tow truck to come. Seems nice.’ She chuckled a little. ‘Yuri tried to take charge of the situation when the tow truck arrived.’
‘So?’
‘Nothing, I contained myself, though Billy was a little horrified at the state of the Jeep. I told Yuri I could deal with it, know Billy. Though he insisted on having them pay for the damage, seeing as it was their Alpha’s fault.
