Alpha Gretta
All 12 of them were sitting in the war room, and they’d brought up the pack Jeweller being part fairy. She hadn’t been hard to find, one Aubrette Chepi, and her lineage was half dark witch and half light fairy. It was reported in her pack file that her mother, a light fairy, had died in childbirth. She had fled her own realm, in order to hide the child from its evil father, had given up her life and used all of her own fairy escence to shroud the child in light and keep her hidden from her father.
The man’s name was not stated in the pack file, but the mother had voiced he was a powerful warlock, head of his coven, and refused to give up any more information. She had announced the child’s name to be given to her before her entire body had glowed and turned to a bright gold fairy dust, which had then fallen onto the child itself, and had been absorbed into the little girl’s body.
She was a pretty young woman in that file, had long raven black hair and soft milky-coloured skin. She was tall and willowy like all witches were, and where her normally pastel-coloured pink eyes would have indicated she was of the light realm, they were more of a deep dark maroon indicating a cross-breed. Light fairies all had pastel-coloured eyes, not this lovely-looking young lady.
Her fairy lineage shone through in her looks, but she had no wings and was apparently flightless, another thing caused by cross-breeding. It was reported that she could wield magic and, quite well, she lived in a nice house on the edge of the south-eastern side of the pack’s town.
Her home was not small for a single lady, of just 29 years old, she had a two-story, four-bedroom villa-style home with an extensive garden, and a jewellery workshop in the basement.
She had been there for the roll-call, had raised her hand from the crowd, smiled and then been sent away.
They’d not been looking at lineage when attending roll-call. They’d just been making sure all pack members were there.
They pulled up her pack contributions from the jewellery store and for every dollar she paid in taxes, there was a pack donation made to her own personal bank account. This creature liked money and was paid to be here, paid very well.
Gretta sighed, “Who here wants to bet that witch’s magic is used to get those deals with other packs?”
“Agreed, dark witches do like to be paid and handsomely for their services,” Marrian sighed.
“The question is, how do we get her to tell us what she did? A seer is not going to play with that half-breed if we’re all thinking about which warlock is her birth father,”
Most in the room nodded, “That bastard Hendrick has many half-breed offspring. Though she’s fully realised, why didn’t he come for her?” Cameron mused.
“Likely tried and got his ass set on fire by his own child. It doesn’t state what type of fairy her mother was, but from her eye colour I’m going to guess fire fairy of the light realm.” Gretta stated. Their eyes would
normally range from pastel pink to brilliant orange add the black of Hendrick and that’s how she got those eyes of hers. A deadly combination.”
Austin sighed, “The seers will pick up her bloodline and won’t want to go there, I don’t think. He might be exiled and lost half of his power, but the fear of him is still in the kingdom.”
“Likely a deal will have to be made with her and one to her liking.” Hailey sighed now. Money or jewels will likely work, and no punishment for her will be a given.”
There was a note, paper clipped to the file, put on birth control secretly when she gets here. So it was a no-win situation and that girl was unlikely to produce pups for the entire 10 years, giving this pack 1.5 million, and then after that they didn’t have to send money back to her pack. It was cruel, is what it was. She wondered how many others mated into this pack had clauses like that and the she-wolf secretly put on wolfen birth control.
Gretta didn’t think they were stalling, she had a feeling they were trying to find a way out of it without offending Roman. She sighed and put it aside. She was going to have to call that pack and speak with them this afternoon. She could put the Wolfen Councils null and void on that deal to help them out.
Dariah was attached to a mating alliance, that was only to come into play after her medical degree was completed at the age of 26. It was all drawn up but no name was attached to it yet. Though there was a list of potential packs and their male heirs attached to them, likely wolves that they thought would be suitable.
Gretta checked out all those packs, and they were all wealthy and able to afford the four million dollar price tag attached to Dariah. There was also an annual fee of half a million dollars for each year Dariah stayed in the pack.
There was a clause in that agreement about them both having to willingly give up their Goddess-Gifted Mates, relinquish them back to the Moon Goddess before Marking and Mating.
Though as she read the file attached to Dariah, there would be a minimum of four wolves presented to her, and she would get to date them all over the course of a year and choose one to her own liking. That was interesting to Gretta. Though not as interesting as the picture of the bracelet that Dariah was wearing, which was stated to be given on her 16th birthday and to be worn all the times.
Considered to be a betrothal band, she was willing to bet Dariah had no idea that was what it was for. She was also willing to bet it wasn’t just pretty but imbued to stop her from scenting out her Goddess-Gifted.
That girl had been wearing it for seven years. Five of those, after she was able to scent out her mate, she could well have come across him and her scent was hidden from him and he, hers. This was not a good thing.
