Slade
He hadn’t gone to the café on purpose just in case Ana was there this morning. If she did read that file she would likely need a day to absorb everything that had gone on that fateful day, and afterwards.
If she didn’t read it, he didn’t want to stand in front of her and huff with annoyance and have to ask her why not and request it again. Her life was very different to his, and it could take her time to want to know what happened inside that pack.
From all she’d voiced last night, she may not want to know, and he really did need her to know. So he’d sent Vance, and Palmer had just tagged along. Vance he knew was happy to go. He’d left Zara alone all night, even out in the car park. He’d shown he could be the serious Beta when it was needed.
Vance was also of the opinion that Maddie would have seen this and so would let Zara serve him this morning. Yuri had gotten home late, had come back only to grab a car and head out. He’d taken Londyn home last night after playing with her.
Slade had stayed up to wait for him, been told ‘There were no issues.
He’d not smelled anything different about the man, though it was obvious they’d gotten down and dirty with each other, he had not been marked or mated, and didn’t appear to have been claimed by Londyn.
He’d not said anything about it, hadn’t stopped him and pulled his collar aside to look for a bite, couldn’t do any of that without Yuri asking questions in return. So had just stood and stared at the man, stated “I’d appreciate you not playing with Londyn until Ana is aware in full, of what happened that day.”
“Alright.” Yuri had nodded “I didn’t have sex with her Slade, told her myself I wouldn’t, though she is of the opinion Ana wouldn’t care about it.”
“Please just don’t.” had been his only comment, before he’d returned to his own room. It was his only way of being able to try and stop things from getting out of hand if Londyn’s need to Mark and Mate Yuri rose up and overtook her, if they had sex. Which it could well do.
She knew what Yuri was to her, had done for the past two weeks and being Alpha-blooded as well as young and not raised inside a pack. All these things combined could see her lose control, and her need to claim what was hers rise up during sex.
He had no idea if she would just out-muscle Yurl, hold him down and take what she wanted from him, even if he voiced no and tried to stop her, sometimes hearing a mate say no, set off that need even more to claim what was theirs and so it was done by force to make them submit to the Mate Bond. Alphas often didn’t take rejection well. They were the top of the food chain and always got what they wanted or got ticked off when they didn’t.
She was also of Rogue status, beneath that scent masking, so he knew no one, not even himself, could actually control her. He didn’t even think she’d be affected by him rolling his aura at her, they were the same rank.
That thought stopped him. Maddie had used those very words, and he sighed now, as he realised what it meant: they were all Ocean’s protectors! All of them considered themselves to be the same rank?
That just meant it was likely they all individually looked at someone else as the leader to their pack. Maddie appeared to be in charge, but in all likelihood she wasn’t. Londyn was Alpha-blooded but backed
off when Maddie told her to. They were all equals is what she said.
An alpha unit that respected each other’s thoughts and feelings, they were also sisters; that talked about everything. They made decisions together. There was no actual hierarchy to their unit. It was likely nothing happened without them all agreeing on it.
No one told them what to do or when to do it. No one was actually in charge, they’d managed to find away around the mentality of just one wolf being in charge of all of them. Ocean was to be their Alpha, but likely only when she came of age at 18, they were raising her with the mentality that everyone had equal standing.
It was actually a good way to do it. Ocean would understand the ranks but still treat them all the same. No one would be given special privileges due to bloodline. That would make for a good healthy pack, and an excellent pack Alpha, because in her eyes even omegas would have the same rights as the Alpha’s own bloodline. He smiled a little, his little girl was being raised the right way.
If he could get Ana to come home and instate Ocean as the heir to the pack, which was not only her birthright but something he wanted, she would make for a good future Alpha to that pack.
Vance and Palmer returned, and he was happy to hear that Ana had read the file. It didn’t surprise him to know she was confused and needed a minute to catch up, considering she’d had no knowledge of any of it, or that Zara was with her.
He also didn’t expect her to just believe him, or what was in that file either. It was a nice thought, but she would need evidence to back all that she’d read. Some of the things he’d said already would fit in with his documentation of the events, but others did not have anything to back it up at all.
But there was currently a full investigation going on inside that pack, that would, he knew, show her the truth about all the things in the file. Austin had emailed Maddie already. He didn’t know the extent of the actual sss, but she was going to have to go there at the council’s request.
“They are blood bonded to each other,” he stated as he looked at his unit. “It’s why they call themselves sisters, because they are actually sisters.”
“That explains a lot.” Vance nodded. “Also the same rank thing.”
“They’re all of the same bloodline and have mixed all their blood with each other. Each one of them have Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta Blood in their veins. They are all the same rank.” Slade murmured.
“That will be a good thing for Ana. She actually has a true family that love and care for her,” Palmer nodded.
“Yes, but also no, separating them if only one or two of them are mated to us, could be an issue. They chose their way of life to be together, not only to be a family, but they all live together in that house. Work together as well.” Slade sighed heavily. “It’s going to have to be all or nothing, if one doesn’t want…” he thought out loud.
“The others will opt not to, to stay with their sister.”
Palmer sighed now “Maddie’s unwillingness to even try and find out if my charm will set her off again, is because she doesn’t know what is going to happen to her family.”
Slade looked at Palmer. “Sorry.”
“It’s not your fault, Slade, if she is, I’m not going to give her up, and if Austin thinks Maddie can be used to sway Ana, it could well be the other way around. If Maddie and I are together, Ana might suck it up and tag along even if she doesn’t want to. That could be Maddie’s issue. She might think her decision could cause her sister pain and make her be somewhere she might not want to go.”
“Food for thought,” he nodded. “I don’t want Ana or any of them forced into anything, it will make them unhappy. Not something I want. I kind of get the feeling they liked their life here and were happy until we showed up.”
