Not just the Beta (Oriana and Slade) novel Chapter 57

Ana

She laughed when Maddie hit her several times, after Austin and his Beta left the café, “Are you freaking crazy?” she hissed at her.

“Oh, come on, you know you’d love a dinner with that man.” She once again kept it to human terms.

“Now you know he’s willing as well.”

“Ana!!”

“It’s one dinner, what harm can it do?” Ana smiled at her, “He seems happy enough, his friend even laughed and played along. Maybe the man likes you.”

“Still.” Maddie hissed at her, as she turned and looked out the window, at Austin sitting out there waiting for her.

“Go and wash up, put some lippy on.” Ana laughed softly; she, too, could see that Austin was just drinking his coffee while waiting for Maddie. She knew that he could hear every word that was being said in here, and thought he was definitely listening as well.

She turned and looked at Maddie, mind-linked to her ‘I’m not saying have sex with him, but…well, if it arises, jump on it.’

Maddie smacked her one. “You’ll pay, you know. I’ll get you back one day.”

“Good, I’ll know to keep an eye out for it.” Ana chuckled.

She walked Maddie outside after locking up, smiled right at Alpha Austin, he really was a big wolf, ”

Have a nice dinner.” She told them and headed off with Ocean, her little daughter was all eyes on that man as well. Pure instinct told Ocean even at just 8 months old, he was not only wolfen, but a powerful Alpha as well.

Ana knew how much Maddie liked that Alpha, and although he saw her as human, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t eat with her, or eat her himself. Ana chuckled to herself softly at that thought. She was willing to bet that man had some serious needs to be sated, and could eat for hours.

She was hoping not to see Maddie until well into the night, or the next day even. Maddie had never had a wolf before, and why not get her one to play with? One she was attracted to. They didn’t have to be Mates to hook up, and have a really good night. Those two were both free agents, so there was no problem with that happening.

Her sending Maddie out the back, to wash up, before sending her off with Alpha Austin was simply to give Maddie a moment to replenish her oil infuser necklace, so it didn’t wear off while she was with Austin.

Ana bathed Ocean and was still smiling to herself, amused by her setting them off on a date. Austin would be able to smell Maddie’s arousal all the time, only he would think she was human, and didn’t know he could smell it. Hehehe, the game of seduction was surely afoot.

Though it made her wonder if Maddie would smell his arousal, was he interested in Maddie

sexually, and if so, would he try and sleep with her? That was the real question. Maddie might even be too nervous to go there herself. Who knew? Not Ana, but she would know when Maddie got home. That girl would find it uncomfortable to walk and sit, after being with an Alpha male of that calibre.

Ana shook that off before she took a trip down memory lane herself. Focused on the bath and smooshed bubbles and clapped Ocean’s hand in them, laughed and enjoyed bath time with her little girl.

She was still up when Maddie returned home, she was sitting reading a book on her phone. She smiled and sank down on the couch next to her. She did smell quite a bit like Austin, but she didn’t think they’d had sex with each other. Maddie had strolled in here like normal.

“What happened?” Ana asked right away.

“I’m satisfied, though not totally.” Maddie huffed a little.

“Not totally?” Ana questioned. “How is that even possible?”

“He would do the actual deed, but I got other things.”

“Okay, explain that to me.” Ana frowned at her.

“You know, all the extra stuff…everything but actual sex.”

“Oh…, well no, I wouldn’t know.” Ana shrugged, “a drunken fuck is what I got. None of the other stuff, just kissing and ripping clothes off, then sex. None of the fun stuff.”

“Wow…Okay, that’s a bit sad.” Maddie murmured.

Ana smiled at her, it was what it was, she had enjoyed the act of sex. She knew that, “Well, we can look at it, as between the two of us, we got everything.”

Maddie chuckled now. “I did get some hand and mouth action. He was like, ‘it’s all about you tonight.’ I don’t think he’s the type to do a human girl.” Maddie murmured, sounding a little disappointed.

“Did you enjoy what you got?” Ana asked, and was hoping that was a yes.

“Well, at least you got some action. It’s better than nothing.” Ana nodded.

“Yeah good while it lasted, but I doubt I’ll go there again, not with knowing I can’t have the whole thing.” She got up. “I’m going to bed.”

“Beat?” Ana chuckled.

“Mm, a little, I guess. I did get several big O’s out of him, just…” she shrugged “Disappointed I didn’t get to have him I guess.” Maddie replied.

“Hey, he could be waiting for all you know, never have sex with anyone.” Ana offered up as Maddie walked down the hall.

“I guess… I’ll never know, it’s not like I can just ask him.” Maddie sighed.

Ana sighed as well now; This was the one downside to the wolfen world thinking they were human.

Sex, with wolves you found attractive, weren’t always going to be up for having sex with a human girl. Which now they knew, that not even the scent of one’s arousal gave them away as wolfen. Maddie had created the perfect scent masking oil.

That made her curious though; they scented of human so if and when a Mate came along, would they actually scent them out at all? Or would they not? She had no idea at all. She sat there and thought about it, their scents were masked, and they appeared human. Would that oil nullify their mate bond scent?

But then again, wolves did mate to humans at times. There was no way at this time to know. Only if she or Maddie scented out a Mate and if that Mate scented them back or not, would answer the question. But that begged another question; what if that wolf scented them but she nor Maddie scented them back. That oil was infused with human pheromones, who was to say that they weren’t scenting the pheromones of that particular human. Oh, that was going to be interesting if and when it happened.

Then there was that if they did scent them back, were they a wolf that would accept a human Mate? Some she knew would not take a human Mate. Seen as a weakness to them, to their pack even. That all depended on how they were raised, she supposed.

If she or Maddie, Ocean, even; when she grew up, found themselves face to face with a wolfen Mate, who thought they were human and didn’t want them because of that, would they all accept that wolf’s rejection? Or would they opt to tell them what they truly were and reveal themselves to their Mate? To be accepted by him.

She sighed a little at that thought. Would he be worthy of them, if he rejected them, on the basis that they were human? That was a difficult question to answer, she supposed. Though in her eyes, if a Mate came along, and took one look at her and decided she wasn’t good enough, solely because she was human. Ana knew that she would stand there and accept his rejection, because it meant that he didn’t love her for who she was. So he wasn’t, in her eyes, worthy of herself or China.

What Maddie or Ocean would do, she had no idea at all. Maddie might feel the same after her life inside that pack she’d come from. But Ocean would have no knowledge of living within the harsh world of wolves, she might out herself later in life to have that Mate, that had been gifted to her, as the other half of her soul. Want him regardless.

She was going to have to think about that, how to raise her to know and judge when a wolf was honest and true. If he was decent in Ana’s eyes, he would love and accept his Mate, even if she was human. Once he did that, then she, Maddie or Ocean could reveal themselves to him. Maybe that was the right way to do it.
