This little brat thinks she can threaten me just because she runs a little company now.Moore sneered.

I believe the correct word to use is jealous. You have always been jealous of me Moore. Even now you are jealous of my success but your pride won’t allow you to admit that.

You witch. There’s nothing to be jealous about. I don’t know why you came back to New York but I’d advise you crawl back to whatever hell you came from. If you think Alpha Damon will chose you over my daughter just because you’ve got money now, you’d better think again.

Amber couldn’t help but laugh again. She didn’t know how many times she had laughed in just one night. Oh I see. So that is what you think this is about? You actually believe I came back after all these years just to fight over Damon? She said between laughs.

As much as I am flattered to see that you’re both intimidated by my presence. I will do you both a favor and break you free from your little fantasy. She added, her voice harder now.

I don’t give a damn about Damon or who he ends up with. That bastard can rot in hell for all I care. The only reason I’m back is because of my daughter. And until I get her back, you’d both better do yourselves a favor and stay the hell away from me.

Without waiting for a response, Amber shot them both a final glare before turning on her heel and walking away.

You evil bitch. Don’t think this is over. I will make you regret ever talking to me like that.Moore screamed after her but Amber didn’t bother turning back. She kept walking until she was outside the building.

Taking a deep breath, she reached into her purse and pulled out her phone. She went through her contacts until she found the number she was looking for.

Hello ma’am.Mr Henry’s voice came through the moment the call connected.

Hey Henry.Amber replied before adding. Something came up and I had to leave early. It’s okay if I leave everything in your hands for tonight right?

Of course ma’am. You don’t need to worry about anything I will take care of everything.

Thanks Henry. I owe you one.

You are the boss ma’am. You don’t have to owe me a thing

Amber chuckled softly. Fair enough. Thanks again, she said before ending the call.

She slipped the phone back inside her purse and was already walking down to where her car was parked when she felt a hand grabbed her and pulled her inside a secret room she hadn’t even notice before.

She tried to break free but the man gently but firmly pushed towards the wall and before she knew it, she felt him crashed his lips on her.

Even before she could see his face, Amber already knew his scent. The lights were dim inside the room but she still recognize him. And even though she could count how many times they’ve kissed in the past, she could still remember the way his lips tasted. For a brief dangerous second, she found herself almost kissing him back.

Coming back to her senses before things could get out of hand, Amber managed to push him back with all her strength. She raised her hand and was about to slap him but Damon caught her wrist in midair, pinning both hands above her head.

He leaned in close until his breath was touching her neck, causing her to breathe heavily.

Let go of me you bastard! She hissed, her voice trembling with anger.

Chapter Twenty Five

Why have you been avoiding me Bree?

I’m not avoiding you. Why the hell would I?

Liar. I saw you during the interview with the reporters. You ran the moment you saw me.The pain in his voice didn’t go unnoticed.

I didn’t run from you. I was trying to get away from the press. Now let me go.

Lies. You hate me and I know it. But I love you so much Bree.

Don’t you dare say that to me again. I don’t know what has come over me or why you are suddenly interested me. For three years we were married and live together but you never looked my way twice. Even when I did everything to make you notice me, you always shoved me aside.

I didn’t mean any of that Bree. I was afraid to admit that I was falling for you so I did everything I could to push you away. I’m sorry.

Stop! Enough with your stupid lies. If you think I will fall for them, think again. Now let me go.

Why don’t you believe me Bree? I’m telling the truth.Amber could see the hurt and tears in his eyes but she shook her head to wash away any form of pity she was beginning to feel for him.

Don’t you dare say that to me. You wanted a divorce, Damon, and I gave it to you. You wanted to be with your precious love, and you have her now. So go to her and leave me the hell alone..

Is that what this is about? Are you jealous of Bels?

Amber scoffed. Why would I be jealous of that arrogant little bitch?

You don’t need to be. I feel nothing for her. I only love you Bree. Why can’t you see that?

You think an apology can erase everything you did to me? You took my child, Damon. You left me to die. How dare you say you love me after all these years?

Is that why you went and had another man’s son?

What?

Don’t you dare deny it Bree. I know you have a son. Do you know how I felt when I found out you were with another man. And now I found out you also have a son. How could you Bree? How could you stoop so low? We are married for God’s sake.

Amber stared at him in shock. She didn’t know how to feel about this. She didn’t know whether she should be angry that Damon thought so lowly of her or be happy that he didn’t know he was the father of Jason.

I’ve got nothing to say to you. Let me go.

No. I won’t let you go until you tell why. Why did you do it? Why did you hurt me like that?

Why should I explain myself to you? I begged for your love for years and you ignored me. Why should I care now, after all this time? Six years is more than enough for me to move on and start over.

I know I messed up Bree. But I’m trying to make up for that now. I’ve always love you. Even if it’s too late, please, let me try to win your heart again.

Stop with these cooked up stories Damon. There’s nothing left to win back. You wanted a divorce and I gave it to you. So do both of us a favor, and let me go.
