Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 121

121.Chapter 121

Daphne felt like she’d been struck by lightning, rooted to the spot.

In her anger, she’d completely forgotten about the bet with Ophelia.

“The results are out. My score is higher than yours, so you have to apologize to me and Ruby on the school radio,” Ophelia said, her gaze icy. Each word landed like a sledgehammer on Daphne’s chest.

Daphne’s face went deathly pale, like she was about to be sick.

Apologizing on the school radio meant everyone would hear her humiliation. She’d be a laughingstock. How was she supposed to show her face at school after this?

“No, this can’t be happening…” Daphne shook her head, panic flooding her. She didn’t want this at all.

Ophelia’s eyes glinted with mockery as she raised an eyebrow. “Don’t want to apologize, huh…”

“Ophelia, maybe…” Zoe bit her lip, looking all conflicted as she glanced at Ophelia, clearly hesitating to speak.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow with a playful look. “Are you trying to plead for her?”

“We’re family, after all. Why not just let it go? If Daphne gets embarrassed, it wouldn’t reflect well on you either,” Zoe said, sounding like she was pleading, but her tone was far from sincere.

Ophelia saw right through Zoe’s act.

‘This little two-faced schemer is really something. She’s just afraid her so-called allies will turn on her if she keeps quiet, what, worried her alliance might fall apart?’ Ophelia thought.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow, a sly smile playing at her lips. She nodded generously. “Alright, since Zoe’s asking, let’s change the bet.”

Hearing this, Daphne instinctively glanced at Ophelia, her eyes lighting up with anticipation, waiting to hear what the new bet would be.

“We agreed before, if you lost, you’d apologize; if I lost, I’d leave the advanced class. Since you don’t want to apologize, then you leave the advanced class,” Ophelia looked at Daphne, cool and collected, like she was already doing her a favor.

“No way, I can’t leave the advanced class!” Daphne shrieked, her voice sharp with panic.

“Ophelia, isn’t this a bit too harsh?” Zoe protested, her eyes full of disapproval, but she just looked helpless, like she was forced to go along.

Honestly, at first glance, it almost looked like Ophelia was bullying the two of them. It was honestly laughable.

“You can’t even accept that?” Ophelia scoffed, her lips curling in disdain. “You/made the bet, so you have to pay up. Looks like you just can’t handle losing.

“Why don’t you ask her, if I lost, would she just let the bet slide and pretend nothing ever happened?” Ophelia’s gaze turned icy. “I bet if that were the case, she’d be the first to kick me out of the advanced class.”

‘Trying to pull the sympathy card now? Honestly, I don’t give a damn about either of you, Ophelia thought.

Seeing Ophelia’s unapologetic, defiant stance, Daphne knew there was no way Ophelia would let her off the hook today.

Daphne took a deep breath, her eyes blazing with resentment as she glared at Ophelia. “Who says I can’t handle losing? It’s just an apology, fine, I’ll do it.”

She couldn’t let herself get kicked out of the advanced class. As long as she stayed there, she’d always have a chance to make Ophelia look bad.
