Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 123

123.Chapter 123

Alaric turned to Tristan. “Grandpa, let’s head inside.”

“Sure, let’s go in,” Tristan said, his fondness for Alaric clear in his warm smile.

Ophelia frowned, her tone chilly as she reminded Alaric, “Mr. Caldwell, please be mindful of how you address him. He’s my grandfather. You can call him Mr. Rowle or Grandpa Rowle.”

‘Grandpa? Seriously? He’s not your grandpa, so why are you calling him that?’ Ophelia grumbled inwardly, barely hiding her

irritation.

“Ophelia’s got a point,” Alaric nodded solemnly, as if making a big deal out of it. “If you feel shortchanged, just call my grandpa ‘Grandpa’ too. That way, we’re all square.”

Ophelia’s lips twitched violently. ‘Is this guy nuts?’ she thought, utterly speechless.

‘Does he seriously think he can settle something like this that way?’ Ophelia grumbled to herself, rolling her eyes.

Tristan just sat back and watched the show, saying nothing.

One looked like they couldn’t stand the other, while the other just kept stirring things up.

They acted like there was nothing between them, but Tristan could tell there was more going on beneath the surface.

“Young folks, huh?” Tristan chuckled. “Ophelia, since you’re here, why don’t you entertain Alaric for me? I’m feeling tired, so I’m going to rest.”

“Grandpa?” Ophelia stared at him, totally floored. ‘Did he really just hand Alaric off to me? What is this, babysitting duty?’

“I’d rather not,” Ophelia tried to protest, but Tristan just waved her off and headed upstairs.

Ophelia watched his back, feeling a little put out. “Grandpa, is this what you call missing me?”

Tristan paused for a second, then just smiled and kept walking upstairs.

“Alaric, what exactly did you say to my grandpa?” Ophelia finally snapped the moment Tristan was out of sight.

She’d come here to see her grandpa, and now she was stuck babysitting this guy instead.

Plus, her grandpa was acting all kinds of weird. She was convinced Alaric must’ve said something to mess with him.

Alaric flashed a cheeky grin, totally unfazed as he said, “I just asked Grandpa to let me marry you.”

Ophelia shot him a glare, her eyes blazing with anger, voice low and dangerous, “Say that again?”

From the look on her face, if he really admitted it, she’d probably punch him right then and there.

Seeing how genuinely angry she was, Alaric could only sigh, looking helpless. “Ophelia, what did I ever do wrong? Why are you always so hostile toward me?”

Ophelia narrowed her eyes at Alaric, her teeth grinding in frustration.

‘Ugh, he looks so pathetic, anyone would feel sorry for him; Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes.

‘Here comes the drama king again,’ Ophelia grumbled inwardly.

Rubbing her aching temples, Ophelia forced herself to stay calm and warned, “Just talk straight.”

Alaric pinched the bridge of his nose, thinking, ‘This girl is seriously ruthless. Is her heart made of stone or what?’

“The new coffee bean just came in this year, and my grandpa asked me to personally deliver some to Mr. Rowle,” Alaric explained earnestly.

Seeing how serious he was, Ophelia frowned in confusion. “Did you really have to come in person just to drop off some coffee bean?”

‘Even if it was his grandpa’s idea, couldn’t he have just had someone else do it?’ Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes.

“I had nothing better to do, so I figured I’d swing by and check in on Mr. Rowle,” Alaric said, as if it was no big deal at all.

But truth be told, he was just here to make his presence known.

He knew Ophelia always meant what she said. Since she’d brought up breaking off the engagement last time, he was sure she’d go through with it.

And she was all about action, case in point, shaderly chur allow Manor.

Alaric raised an eyebrow, thinking, ‘Should I count my bf CKY hat happened to show up today and bump into her?’

Ophelia sized him up for a moment, finally looking like she believed him.
