Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 133

133.Chapter 133

“Huh?” Zoe was stunned for a moment. ‘What’s up with Alaric’s attitude? This just doesn’t feel right, she thought.

“Are you done?” Alaric’s voice was icy, his tone cold and commanding. “If you’re done, get out of my way.”

Zoe opened her mouth, but in the end, she could only mutter, “T-then, let me open the car door for you, Mr. Caldwell.”

With that, Zoe moved to open the car door for him.

“No need,” Alaric said, opening the door himself and getting into the car.

Zoe’s hand hung awkwardly in the air, and she could only watch as the car pulled away before finally letting it drop.

But soon, a sly little smirk curled at the corner of her lips, mission accomplished.

Even if Alaric looks like he doesn’t believe it, Zoe thought, ‘Seriously, who wouldn’t freak out if someone was two-timing

them?

‘Alaric, after all these years I’ve waited for you, there’s no way I’m letting Ophelia just waltz back in and steal you away from me…’

Alaric leaned back in his seat, his expression stormy. Zoe’s words kept echoing in his mind, no matter how hard he tried to ignore them. ‘Is Ophelia really with Declan now?’ he couldn’t help but wonder.

The next day.

The morning sunlight flooded everything, bathing the world in a rosy glow.

Ophelia had just stepped into the classroom when she spotted a stack of A4 papers on her desk. She scrunched up her brows, puzzled. “Huh? What’s this? Who dropped these off?”

She grabbed the papers as she spoke, flipping through them, turns out, they were review notes.

“Ophelia, Declan dropped those off for you. Said they’re study materials,” Ruby leaned in and whispered.

“Declan?” Ophelia blinked, then grinned. “Oh, you mean Declan Blackwell.”

She skimmed through the notes and instantly got it, they were practice problems for the math competition.

She guessed Connor must’ve had Declan put together these review notes for her since she skipped training yesterday.

Ruby’s cheeks flushed as she nodded. “Yeah, and Declan said if you get stuck on anything, just ask him.”

Ophelia was speechless. ‘Seriously, is Connor trying to play matchmaker instead of running the school?’

Dropping off the notes wasn’t enough, and he even made Declan leave her that cheesy line.

Ophelia arched a brow, wondering what kind of mood Declan was in when he went along with Connor’s matchmaking scheme.

But she didn’t dwell on it. After slipping the notes into her backpack, she settled into her seat and waited for class to start.

“Ophelia, are you and Declan that close?” Ruby asked tentatively, testing the waters.

“Not at all,” Ophelia said, shaking her head, her voice flat and distant.

She really wasn’t close to him at all. If it weren’t for Connor’s deliberate meddling, they probably never would’ve even talked.

“Oh,” Ruby mumbled, but there was a hint of disappointment in her voice.
