Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 150

150.Chapter 150

Abigail snorted, her teeth clenched. “Let’s see how long you can keep faking it,” she muttered, stalking after Ophelia.

Stepping into the living room.

Cameron was slouched on the couch, looking like the world was ending. But when he saw Ophelia walk in, he froze, totally stunned. Then his eyes lit up and he rushed over, all fake smiles and honeyed words. “Hey, Ophelia, you’re back!”

‘Guess she still cares about me after all these years. Maybe she’s really here to help me, Cameron thought, clinging to that hope.

Ophelia shot Cameron a cold, mocking look. “Wasn’t it you who sent your men to ‘invite’ me back?”

She practically spat out the word “invite”, her eyes dripping with sarcasm.

‘He found out who I really was last time, but I didn’t lift a finger to help him. No wonder he’s still salty about it, Ophelia thought, her eyes full of mockery.

Cameron frowned, thrown by Ophelia’s icy attitude. “Ophelia, what’s with the attitude?”

‘Why does she sound so mad at me?’ Cameron wondered, totally confused.

Just then, Abigail strutted in with her four muscle-heads, acting all high and mighty. “Brat, since you came back today, don’t think you’ll be leaving here safe and sound unless you give us an explanation.”

“Explanation?” Ophelia gave Abigail a look of pure contempt. “What do you want from me? I’m not a judge. If you’ve got a problem, take it up with someone who cares.”

‘Seriously? Is she out of her mind?’ Ophelia rolled her eyes inwardly.

“If it weren’t for you, Aaron wouldn’t be in this mess!” Abigail screamed, her eyes blazing with fury.

“If it weren’t for me, Aaron would’ve ended up killing Mr. Caldwell. He’s the one responsible for that medical screw-up.

“Did you really think he’d get off easy?” Ophelia shot back, her voice thick with sarcasm. ‘She’s just trying to pin the blame on me. What a joke,’ Ophelia thought.

Cameron blinked, finally realizing what was happening as the two women argued. “Wait, what’s going on here?” he asked, still trying to wrap his head around the chaos.

‘Hold up, did Abigail really drag her back here?’ Cameron wondered, a wave of unease washing over him.

As he recalled what Ophelia had said when she walked in, a sudden chill crept down his spine.

“What do you mean, what’s going on? If it weren’t for this backstabbing brat, Aaron wouldn’t be rotting in jail!

“I dragged her back here to force her to figure out a way to get him out. If she doesn’t do as I say, she’ll pay for it,” Abigail snapped, her glare at Ophelia full of venom.

Now that Ophelia was in her grasp, there was no way Abigail was letting her walk away unscathed.

When Cameron realized his worst fears had come true, he totally lost it. He swung his hand and slapped Abigail so hard it echoed through the room. “Who told you to do this? Are you trying to get our whole family killed?”

Abigail was left reeling, her head spinning from the blow. She just stood there, frozen, like she’d been hit by a truck.

After a long, stunned pause, she finally blurted out, “You hit me?”

As soon as she said it, she snapped out of her daze and started shrieking, “You actually hit me because of that backstabbing brat?”

“Damn right I did! If I hadn’t, the Vossen family would be wiped off the map in Dunhollow by tomorrow,” Cameron spat, his voice full of disgust. ‘Why the hell did I marry such a fool?’ he thought, seething with rage.

Ever since Cameron found out Ophelia was actually Rowan, and then accidentally pissed her off, he’d been scrambling to fix things. He tried every connection he had, but kept hitting dead ends.

Finally, he managed to get Mr. Grant to promise he’d put in a good word for him, and before he could even make it happen, Abigail went and kidnapped Ophelia like it was nothing.

“What are you even saying? I seriously don’t get it,” Abigail mumbled, staring at Cameron with a blank look, like her brain had just short-circuited.
