Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 186

186 Chapter 186

186.Chapter 186

“Word is, Kingston Group’s cash flow is drying up fast. If you don’t land an investor soon, you’ll be bankrupt in less than three months,” Ophelia replied, her calm, unflinching demeanor making it clear she was not someone to mess with.

“You claim you’re here to talk partnership, but you’re not being upfront. Hiding the real situation at Kingston Group? That’s straight-up fraud, if you ask me,” she added, her voice cool and cutting.

Mr. Kingston’s face turned ghostly pale as Ophelia exposed him in front of everyone. He shot her a dark, venomous glare.

“Who do you think you are, just some random kid? This isn’t your place to butt in. If you know what’s good for you, keep your mouth shut and stay out of grown-up business.”

All of those were company secrets. Now this brat had aired his dirty laundry in front of the whole industry crowd. It was like she’d slapped him in the face for everyone to see.

“Getting mad now?” Ophelia gave him an icy smirk, her voice almost pitying. “Failure isn’t the end of the world. What’s truly pathetic is not having the guts to face reality. Keep lying to yourself, and you’ll only end up suffering for it.”

“Keep running your mouth, and I’ll make sure you disappear from this industry for good!” Mr. Kingston roared, his face twisted with fury, eyes locked on Ophelia as he threatened her.

‘I can’t touch Maplewood Capital, and Rowan Draven is out of reach, but taking down a little nobody like her? That, I can do, he thought, his eyes gleaming with malice.

“I’m afraid you’re not nearly that powerful,” Ophelia sneered, shooting Mr. Kingston a look of pure disdain.

‘Blacklist me from the industry? As if, Ophelia scoffed to herself.

‘This guy doesn’t even know his place, yet he still has the nerve to run his mouth in front of me,’ she thought, her lips curling in contempt.

“Mr. Kingston, you’re almost out of time. Instead of standing here arguing with us, maybe you should go figure out how to save Kingston Group.

“Otherwise, we’re not the ones getting kicked out of the industry. Who knows if Kingston Group will even be around in two weeks?” Ella shrugged, playing the good guy, her voice full of fake concern.

“What nonsense are you spouting?!” Mr. Kingston’s face went dark with anger. He hadn’t expected Ophelia and Ella to be so sharp-tongued and tough to deal with.

‘If I don’t put these two brats in their place, how am I supposed to show my face around here? I might as well quit the business for good, he fumed to himself.

“Hmph, you two little brats really need someone to put you in your place,” Mr. Kingston snarled through clenched teeth. Then he bellowed toward the door, “Security! Security! Get these two out of here. I don’t want to see them again.”

“Mr. Kingston, you’ve got a lot of nerve,” a cold, arrogant voice sliced through the tension.

Everyone whipped around to look, and the atmosphere instantly dropped a few degrees.

All eyes landed on Alaric as he strode in, his commanding presence so intense it felt like the whole room was holding its breath.

“M-Mr. Caldwell,” Mr. Kingston stammered, his face going pale as he bowed and scraped. “Mr. Caldwell, you’re here! I didn’t expect you. My apologies for not greeting you properly!”

Maplewood Capital had already turned him down, so now he was desperate to win Alaric over. The moment he saw him, he started sucking up like his life depended on it.

“What were you up to just now, Mr. Kingston?” Alaric’s voice was cold as ice as he walked over, his piercing gaze so intense it made Mr. Kingston’s skin crawl.

Mr. Kingston immediately tried to dodge responsibility, his tone full of nervous flattery. “These two girls were making a fuss and stirring up trouble. I was just about to call security to get them out. I didn’t want them messing up the meeting.” Alaric gave Mr. Kingston a look like he was straight-up brainless, unable to hide his contempt. “Seriously, Mr. Kingston? You want to kick Ms. Draven out? If you’re blind, don’t mess things up for the rest of us. I’m still hoping to team up with Ms. Draven.”

Alaric’s words made Mr. Kingston break out in
