Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 215

215 Chapter 215

215.Chapter 215

“Client?” Ophelia scoffed. “Wow, acting all righteous, covering for Cameron.”

“I don’t know who he is, but since you’re so sure, maybe it is him. Doesn’t matter to me-I’m just here for the money,” the leader said, his voice rough as he glanced at the other two guys. “Do it.”

This little girl was not easy to handle, and they couldn’t afford to drag this out any longer. If they kept stalling, they might not just leave empty-handed. They could end up in real trouble.

“Yes.” The two men replied, turning to grab a couple of baseball bats from the car.

Ophelia’s expression turned serious. She hadn’t expected them to be this cautious. Her powder only worked as a surprise attack, and now it was basically useless.

“Kiddo, stop struggling. These bats could break your arms or legs, and that’s just not worth it. Why not just come with us? The guy who hired us isn’t after your life, so why make things difficult for yourself?” the leader said, pretending to feel sorry for her.

He just didn’t want to drag this out any longer. He could tell this girl wasn’t easy to deal with, so getting her to surrender herself was the safest bet.

Ophelia flashed a cocky grin, her eyes glinting with mischief. “Guess we’ll see about that.”

Giving up just wasn’t in her vocabulary.

Besides, knowing these guys were up to no good, there was no way she’d ever let herself be bossed around.

The leader raised an eyebrow, surprised for a split second before snarling, “Get her!”

He hadn’t expected her to still stand her ground even now, but he wasn’t about to show any mercy.

The two men charged at her, swinging their baseball bats. Ophelia darted aside, and the bats crashed into the car roof, leaving a deep dent.

Ophelia gritted her teeth, her jaw tightening as her expression grew even more grim.

But just as Ophelia dodged, the leader jumped into the fight too, piling on the pressure. She was already on the ropes, and now things were going from bad to worse.

She blocked a swing with her arm and threw a punch to push the guy back, then slipped past another bat and kicked him

away.

But before she could catch her breath, she heard the sharp whistle of something slicing through the air by her ear. Instinctively, she spun around-only to see a bat coming straight for her head.

‘Damn it!’ Ophelia cursed, realizing there was no way to dodge in time. She twisted her body, trying to shield her head and bracing herself to take the hit with her shoulder instead.

But before the bat could hit, someone suddenly grabbed her wrist and jerked her toward him, pulling her straight into a pair

of strong arms.

Ophelia instinctively looked up, meeting Alaric’s intense eyes. She froze for a moment. “Alaric?”

Alaric held her close and sent the guy flying with a kick, but before they could catch their breath, another bat came crashing down from behind, giving them no time to breathe.
