Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 214

214 Chapter 214

214.Chapter 214

A chill flickered in Ophelia’s eyes as she floored the accelerator, her car surging ahead. Instantly, the car behind her gunned it too, refusing to let her go.

‘Hold up-there’s more than one car!’ Ophelia realized, tension spiking in her chest.

‘Who the hell are these people, and what do they want?’ she thought, her senses on high alert.

Her gaze dark and focused, Ophelia maneuvered through the packed traffic with practiced ease, keeping her cool and scanning for any opening to ditch her pursuers.

But whoever was behind her knew what they were doing-they stuck close, matching her every move, making it nearly impossible to shake them off.

In the end, Ophelia found herself boxed in by several cars, trapped right at the entrance to the overpass ramp.

“Ugh,” Ophelia sighed. So close. If she’d made it onto the overpass, she could’ve lost them for sure.

With no other choice, Ophelia stepped out, shut her car door calmly, and glanced over at the guys who had just gotten out of their cars across from her.

Three cars, more than a dozen men, every single one looked strong and capable, definitely not amateurs.

“Who sent you?” Ophelia asked, her hands hanging casually at her sides, her tone cool and unbothered. “Was it Mr. Kingston?”

‘After all, I just swindled him yesterday. Is this his payback?’ she thought.

The men didn’t say a word, their faces cold and indifferent, not even reacting to the mention of Mr. Kingston.

Ophelia’s brow furrowed, her voice turning even colder. “So it’s Cameron Vossen, huh.”

She let out a mocking snort. ‘Finally baring his fangs, huh?’ Ophelia thought, her lips curling in disdain.

They didn’t say a word, but the look on their faces told her everything. She’d hit the nail on the head.

Honestly, it was pretty obvious. In Dunhollow, if it wasn’t Mr. Kingston, then it had to be someone from the Vossen family. After what happened last time with those four guys, she never expected Cameron to send a whole squad after her. He was clearly done letting her slip away.

Ophelia cocked an eyebrow at the group, totally unfazed. “Alright, spill it. What does he want you to do?”

“Don’t ask so many questions. If you don’t want trouble, just come with us,” one of the men said, his voice low and threatening as he stared her down.

“Guess we’ll see if you guys are up to the challenge,” Ophelia shot back, her eyes flashing with disdain. Rolling over and giving up? Yeah, that was never her thing.

“Fine, have it your way,” the leader sneered, waving his hand. “Grab her. The boss said he doesn’t care if she gets roughed up. Just make sure she’s still breathing when you bring her back.”

The chill around Ophelia deepened, her eyes flashing with a dangerous, almost feral glint.

‘So as long as I’m alive, they don’t care if I’m battered or broken,’ Ophelia thought, her jaw clenching.

‘Cameron must really despise me, she mused, a bitter smirk tugging at her lips.

The dozen or so guys rushed her, but Ophelia didn’t flinch, her expression cool as she braced herself for the fight.

She was good, really good. But with that many coming at her, it was rough going. One wrong move and she ended up getting roughed up.

Her cold gaze swept over the crowd. She’d already dropped two of them, but with so many left, she was still seriously outnumbered.

Ophelia’s eyes narrowed for a split second as she took in the scene. If she hadn’t figured out a way to escape soon, she knew she’d be toast.

Ophelia reached into her pocket, pulled out a small paper packet, ripped it open, and scattered the powder into the air. “Shit, get back!” the leader yelled, instantly backing away and clamping a hand over his mouth and nose.
