Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 218

218 Chapter 218

218.Chapter 218

Her hands worked at his shirt, each tug of the fabric brushing against his chest, her scent clinging to the air around him, driving him crazy.

Alaric’s eyes went dark for a split second. ‘Was I messing with her, or just making myself suffer?’ he thought to himself. Thankfully, Ophelia finally got the buttons undone, and that burning tension inside him finally cooled off a bit.

Ophelia slipped his shirt off and turned to examine the bruises on his back.

There were already some nasty bruises forming, and it was obvious just how hard that bat had hit him.

Her cool little hands pressed gently against the sore spots, carefully checking to see if anything was broken.

As her fingers brushed over his skin, Alaric stiffened, biting back a groan that almost slipped out.

“Looks like you got lucky, no broken bones,” Ophelia said, too focused to notice his reaction, relieved that nothing was broken.

“Mm,” Alaric answered, his voice low and a bit husky.

“Let me grab some bruise liniment. We need to massage out the bruising so you heal up faster,” Ophelia said, heading over to rummage through the supply cart.

After finding the medicated oil, she came back and warned, “I’ll have to rub this in pretty firmly. It might hurt a bit, so brace yourself.”

“No big deal,” Alaric replied, looking completely unfazed. ‘It’s just pain. I can take it, he thought.

But the moment Ophelia’s hand landed on his bare skin, Alaric instantly knew he was in trouble.

The sting from the medicine was nothing. He could handle that. But her hands gliding over his back? That was a whole different kind of torture, making him feel hot under the collar.

Alaric knew he was just asking for it; bringing this on himself.

But honestly, this was the kind of punishment he’d gladly take any day.

“Alright, that’s done,” Ophelia said, finishing up with the medicated oil. “Take a bottle home with you and make sure you apply it at the same time every day for the next few days.”

“Will you come over and help me apply it, Ophelia?” Alaric blurted out before he could stop himself.

As soon as the words left his mouth, the emergency room went dead silent.

The two of them locked eyes, and suddenly the air between them felt charged with something unspoken.

Ophelia quickly looked away, a little flustered, and shot back, “Seriously? You don’t have anyone else who can help you with this stuff?”

“No one does it like you, Ophelia,” Alaric teased, cocking his head at her. ‘Wait, is she actually blushing?’ he wondered.

“Do whatever you want, you’re the one hurting, not me,” Ophelia retorted, flinging his shirt at his face so he wouldn’t catch her blushing. She grumbled, a little flustered, “Just put your shirt back on,”

‘He’s really testing my limits now. This guy just gets bolder by the minute, Ophelia thought.

Alaric clutched his shoulder, putting on his best pitiful act. “Ophelia, my back hurts even more now. I can’t even lift my arm.” “Then just leave it off,” Ophelia muttered through clenched teeth, clearly annoyed.

‘Fine, let him stay half-naked, Let’s see who gets embarrassed first, she thought.

Alaric put on his most pathetic face, looking like a kicked puppy. “Ophelia, aren’t you supposed to keep me safe? Do you have any idea how risky it is for me to be sitting here without a shirt?”

Ophelia rubbed her temples, shooting Alaric a glare that screamed, ‘You cannot be serious right now.’

But seeing that innocent, clueless look on his face, her lips twitched hard. ‘Is this guy for real? He must’ve been a demon in his past life or something, she thought.
