A flicker of curiosity danced in Dylan’s eyes, compelling him to delve deeper into Ophelia’s true capabilities. Was she merely exuding blind confidence, or did she possess a brilliance that warranted his attention?

“Dylan, are you seriously considering submitting her design?” Zoe interjected, her voice laced with feigned concern. “I heard that Yvonne, the head designer at Caterina, has quite the notorious temper. What if you inadvertently offend her? That could jeopardize any future collaborations, don’t you think?”

Dylan simply shook his head, a hint of amusement playing on his lips. “It’s all good. I need to pick up my own suit for the weekend anyway. Even if they turn us down, I’ll find another tailor to craft Ophelia’s dress.”

“Exactly,” Adrian chimed in, his tone reassuring. “Even if Caterina doesn’t take it, there are plenty of other options out there. The key point is that it’s your design, Dylan. Whether it comes from Caterina or another source, it still holds immense significance.”

In his mind, Dylan felt a swell of pride. Even if Caterina chose not to support them, it wouldn’t diminish the honor of having his daughter wear something she had created herself.

“Alright then, let’s dig into this meal,” Victoria announced, her earlier worries dissipating. The family settled into their meal, laughter and chatter filling the air as they enjoyed each other’s company.

Across the table, Zoe’s eyes narrowed at Ophelia, a simmering resentment evident in her glare.

As they continued to eat, Owen turned to Dylan, his excitement palpable. “Dylan, you’ve arrived just in time! Are you interested in joining the bet between Ophelia and Zoe?”

Owen’s enthusiasm was infectious; he was clearly hoping for a hefty meal from the brothers, who frequently engaged in friendly wagers. Dylan raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

“You two have a bet, Ophelia?” he asked, genuinely surprised.

Owen beamed, “Absolutely! Ophelia and Zoe are wagering on who will score higher on the first monthly exam this semester. The loser has to buy the winner the next season’s limited edition Caterina handbag!”

At this revelation, their parents exchanged looks, eyebrows raised in curiosity.

Everyone in the family knew Zoe had always been an overachiever, excelling in academics since childhood.
