Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 305

Chapter 305

Chapter 305

Besides, the moment something happened to her, Oliver was already on it. He didn’t even look surprised. He probably already knew everything that was going on with her.

“You’re talented enough, you don’t need to hide anything,” Oliver admitted easily, understanding what she meant. Ophelia smirked, teasing him. “If I didn’t keep a few secrets, how could I help you catch the bad guys, Oliver?”

“What are you two even talking about?” Victoria asked, clearly confused.

Adrian’s expression grew even more serious as he let out a quiet sigh.

Victoria didn’t get it since she wasn’t involved in the company, but Adrian knew exactly what was going on. All he could do was sigh inwardly.

“Dad, sometimes just being patient isn’t enough to make them realize what they’re doing,” Ophelia said, her tone full of implication.

Adrian nodded slightly. “I understand.”

Regret flickered in his eyes, but he kept his cool.

Hearing that, Ophelia finally felt a bit more at ease. She curved her lips into a faint smile and nodded.

“Ophelia, make sure you take care of yourself while you’re in the hospital, okay?” Victoria reminded her gently.

“And if you need anything, just let us know. We’ll bring it right over,” Adrian added.

Ophelia gave them a reassuring smile. “If I need anything, Ella will handle it for me. You two just relax.”

After seeing everyone off, Ophelia let out a long sigh.

‘Well, they didn’t ask any questions, but somehow the misunderstanding just got even worse, Ophelia thought, feeling a bit exasperated.

She couldn’t really blame them for jumping to conclusions. Alaric was just too much this time.

Just thinking about it made her feel helpless. Ophelia rubbed her temples and slowly sat down on the edge of the bed.

But after a moment, Ophelia couldn’t stop thinking about Alaric and decided to go check on him.

To her surprise, Alaric’s hospital room was right across from hers, and with his door wide open, she spotted him the moment she stepped out.

“Ophelia,” Alaric called out, giving her those puppy-dog eyes. “Are you really going to go back on your word?”

Ophelia couldn’t help but roll her eyes. ‘Mr. Caldwell, do you seriously think it’s normal for you, the big boss, to act all needy?” she thought.

But Alaric just looked even more like a kicked puppy. “You said you would, but now you’re backing out.”

Ophelia’s face darkened as she gave him a pointed look. “Alaric, I was actually worried about you, but you seem perfectly

fine to me.”

“Oh, is that so? Looks like Mr. Caldwell doesn’t need visitors after all. Guess I’ll just visit Ms. Rowle then, George Brown’s voice rang out.

Ophelia looked up to see George Brown approaching her with measured steps, holding a bouquet of lilies.

“Ms. Rowle, I heard you had an accident, so I thought I’d drop by to see how you’re doing,” George said, presenting the bouquet to her. “You’re hurt too, so you really should get some rest,”

“I’m fine,” Ophelia replied, raising an eyebrow at him. “Word travels fast with you, Mr. Brown.”

“Not entirely,” George replied with an easy smile. “But when it comes to Ms. Rowle, I naturally pay a bit more attention.”

“Oh, come on, Mr. Brown. Drop the act. You’re just spying on Ophelia, aren’t you?” Alaric shot back, his voice cold and dripping with sarcasm.

‘Why do you even care? Who asked you to get involved?’ Alaric thought, irritation flashing in his eyes.

“Well, that’s still nothing compared to your concern for Ms. Rowle, Mr. Caldwell. You were right there the moment it happened. Makes me wonder: if you hadn’t been around, would any of this have happened at all?”
