Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 377

Chapter 377

Chapter 377

Alaric really couldn’t stand the sight of George Brown getting close to Ophelia Rowle. It just got under his skin.

What made it even worse was that the two of them insisted on calling themselves friends now, which only made Alaric feel even more stifled.

“Seriously, Alaric? Could you be any more childish?” Ophelia rolled her eyes, torn between laughing and crying. She honestly hadn’t expected him to bring this up.

“I’m not childish,” Alaric grumbled, sounding a little sulky and stubborn. “Promise me, Ophelia, or I’m not letting you go.”

Ophelia was speechless and couldn’t help but remind him, “Mr. Caldwell, do you even realize what you’re doing right now? Aren’t you afraid someone might walk by and see you? People in Dunhollow would never see you the same way again.”

Alaric stiffened, his voice soft and a little sad, “If someone saw us, would you admit we’re together, Ophelia?”

If she’d say yes, he’d march her right into the hall and announce it to the world.

His eyes were so deep and mysterious, it was like he was miles out of reach. But Ophelia saw right through him, and her lips quirked in disbelief. ‘Isn’t he being a bit much?’ she thought.

She didn’t doubt for a second that Alaric would actually do it.

Her heart skipped a beat out of nowhere, and she just stared at him, totally forgetting to say a word.

Her eyes were dreamy and doe-like, clear as water, and when Alaric met her gaze, his own eyes darkened. Her lips, lush and crimson, held a dangerous allure that threatened to unravel his self-control.

He moved closer, his voice barely above a whisper as he breathed her name, “Ophelia, please… don’t turn me away anymore, okay?”

His voice was pure temptation, like magic weaving through the air, and almost without thinking, Ophelia nodded.

It wasn’t until his lips pressed against hers that Ophelia’s eyes flew wide in shock, Her mind short-circuited, and everything went blank.

Alaric was gentle, deepening the kiss bit by bit.

Suddenly, a noise from nearby snapped Ophelia back to her senses.

She jerked away from Alaric, her brain short-circuited again as she realized what just happened. Her cheeks turned scarlet in an instant.

Alaric was still lost in the moment, and when she suddenly pulled away from his arms, his heart felt suddenly empty.

Ophelia’s cheeks were burning red, completely flustered and at a total loss.

She couldn’t meet Alaric’s eyes at all.

She might’ve lost control for a moment, but now she knew exactly what had just happened.

She realized she hadn’t tried to push Alaric away, and if she was being honest with herself, she hadn’t even wanted to.

The more she thought about it, the more tangled her feelings became. Overwhelmed, Ophelia simply walked off.

“Ophelia,” Alaric called out instinctively.

“Don’t follow me,” she shot back, picking up her pace.

She just needed some space to clear her head and figure out what to do next.

Watching her flustered, hurried steps, a sly smile crept into Alaric’s eyes.

‘She’s finally falling for me, I can feel it, he thought, the certainty settling deep in his chest.

‘Ophelia, I’ve finally waited for you, haven’t I?’ he mused to himself.

Ophelia wandered back into the hall, dragging her feet and looking all kinds of distracted, her mind clearly weighed down by everything that just happened.

“Boss, are you okay?” Ella asked, concern written all over her face.

“It’s nothing,” Ophelia said, shaking her head. She really couldn’t even start to explain what just happened.
