Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 394

Chapter 394

“You got it. I’ll be here at Rowle Manor for the next few days,” Miles replied, his voice firm. ‘No way am I letting anyone get near Grandpa again.’ Miles thought.

“Let’s keep Grandpa’s poisoning a secret for now. As for why he’s still unconscious…” Ophelia paused, her brows furrowing in thought. “Just say it’s poor circulation, some kind of blockage in his system.”

“Sounds good to me,” Miles nodded, then glanced at Ophelia with a raised eyebrow. “You seem to really know your way around medicine, Ophelia.”

It sounded like a question, but his tone made it clear he was sure of it.

Watching her work with such practiced skill, like a master healer he couldn’t help but be amazed. For someone so young… she was seriously impressive.

“Miles, have you ever heard of a divine doctor?” Ophelia left him with that line, striding out of Tristan’s room without looking back.

She had to hurry to the lab, every second counted if she wanted to identify the toxin in Grandpa’s system, uncover the cause, and hunt down whoever was behind it.

“A divine doctor, huh?” Miles murmured, a faint smile tugging at his lips. So that’s the secret behind it.

Watching her walk away with that confident stride, Miles felt his usual cool, distant demeanor soften just a little.

He let out a quiet chuckle and shook his head. No one had ever managed to boss him around or throw him off his game, except Ophelia. With her, he instinctively found himself going along without even thinking about it.

So this is the magic of blood ties. Honestly, it’s kind of amazing

Ophelia came downstairs, looking a little pale and out of sorts.

“Ophelia, did Miles kick you out?” Scarlett sighed, sounding genuinely annoyed.

“Honestly, it’s been so long since he’s been home, we all forgot how he gets when he’s working. He doesn’t like anyone bothering him, and he doesn’t care who it is. He’ll kick you out without a second thought.”

“Ophelia, don’t take it to heart. That’s just how Miles is. You know how it is with researchers. They all have their quirks,” Claire added gently, trying to comfort her.

Ophelia frowned, her gaze icy as she swept over the two of them. “Instead of asking about Grandpa, all you care about is whether I got kicked out?”

“Huh?” Both of them looked stunned. Scarlett curled her lip and said, “It’s not like you even saw Grandpa. How would you know anything about his condition?”

“And how do you know I didn’t see him?” Ophelia’s face went cold, her eyes flashing with sharpness. “Grandpa’s condition is stable for now, but he still hasn’t woken up. Miles is keeping a close eye on him.”

“You mean you actually saw Grandpa? And Miles didn’t kick you out?” Scarlett’s voice shot up in surprise.

“You almost sound disappointed I didn’t get kicked out, Scarlett Ophelia said, raising an eyebrow. “But seriously, why would Miles even want to kick me out?”

“I…” Scarlett was left speechless by Ophelia’s question.

Claire forced a smile and tried to explain, “Ophelia, that’s not what we meant. It’s just that Miles can be a bit… unpredictable. I was just worried about you, that’s all.”
