Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 395

Chapter 395

Ophelia shot him a sideways glance before lowering her voice. “He’s taking care of Grandpa. He’ll be staying at Rowle Manor for a while.”

Adrian nodded in agreement. “Alright then,” he said, but couldn’t help asking with a puzzled look, “So why can’t Grandpa wake up?”

“I just checked on him. He’s just temporarily unconscious because of poor circulation and some blockage. I’ll go back and mix up a few herbal remedies and see if that helps,” Ophelia reped calmly, not wanting anyone to realize she was just making up an excuse.

“If he’s alright, then we’ll just wait and see,” Adrian said, feeling a wave of relief wash over him now that he knew his father wasn’t in any danger.

With Miles looking after him and Ophelia making the medicine, he figured his father would be back on his feet in no time. But then Adrian suddenly realized something and asked Ophelia “Ophelia, how did you end up treating Mr. Caldwell and Mr. Blackwell?”

He didn’t know all the details, but he was well aware that both of their illnesses were extremely dangerous.

‘Just how skilled is Ophelia as a doctor, if she can handle cases as serious as theirs?’ Adrian wondered to himself.

Ophelia nibbled at her lip, trying to figure out how to explain herself.

She couldn’t let anyone know she was a divine doctor, not yet. Otherwise, she might end up alerting the wrong people. “That’s not important,” Alaric said, catching her hesitation. He got up and walked over to her. “Heading back to work?” Ophelia raised an eyebrow at him, instantly realizing he was trying to help her out.

“Yeah, I was just about to head back,” Ophelia replied with a nod

“Let’s go. I’ll walk you,” Alaric said, then turned to the others to say his goodbyes before leading Ophelia out.

“That girl…” Adrian’s eyes softened with affection. “She’s still keeping things from us.”

“Adrian, it’s probably just a fluke. She knows a bit about medicine and herbs, and she’s good at whipping up those herbal

teas.

“Maybe Mr. Caldwell and Mr. Blackwell just happened to need exactly what she made, so they got better, simple as that,” Scarlett said, sounding totally unconcerned.

She really didn’t think Ophelia was anything special, just someone who knew how to brew some tea to keep the old man happy.

‘Let’s see if her tea actually does the trick this time, Scarlett snorted to herself.

Adrian’s expression soured at how Scarlett brushed off his daughter, but since she was his sister-in-law, he couldn’t exactly start drama over one snide remark.

“Dad, should we go check on Grandpa?” Oliver said, smoothly changing the subject.

He knew Ophelia was being cautious for a reason.

The best thing they could do was just play along with her.

“Alright,” Adrian caught on as well and stood up.

The two of them headed upstairs, and the others just fell in line and followed them up.

Meanwhile, Ophelia and Alaric stepped out of the villa.

“Did something happen?” Alaric asked in a low voice, his gaze growing somber.

Just a glance or a look from her, and he could tell what was on her mind.

Ophelia bit her lip, her voice heavy. “Grandpa might have been poisoned.”
