Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 467

Chapter 467

“I’ll stay with you,” Alaric said, his voice soft but determined. He really didn’t want to go, he just wanted to be by her side.

Ophelia put on a stern face and said, “Either you leave, or I do. Take your pick.”

Before Alaric could answer, Ophelia added, “If I walk out, I’m heading straight back to Dunhollow.”

What she really meant was, ‘If you don’t agree to my terms, I’m not staying here with you.’

Alaric caught himself and quickly changed his tune, “Alright, I’ll go get some rest.”

“Go on, but I’ll have Ryan keep an eye on you,” Ophelia warned, making it clear she wasn’t about to let him go behind her back.

With that, Ophelia turned her attention back to the project brief, getting ready to start sketching.

But with Alaric’s burning gaze fixed on her, she just couldn’t focus on the design draft at all.

Seeing there was no way she could get any work done, Ophelia let out a helpless sigh and gave Alaric her final warning.” Are you still not leaving?”

“Ophelia, I’ll go get some rest in a bit,” Alaric said, trying to buy himself a few more minutes with her.

Ophelia just stared at him in silence, her gaze unwavering. Alaric knew that look, there was no room for negotiation.

With a helpless sigh, Alaric slowly got up and shuffled out, clearly dragging his feet.

‘It’s still early… Even if I’m not pulling an all-nighter, can’t I at least stay with her until it’s actually time to sleep?’ he thought, feeling a little sulky.

“Come on, hurry up,” Ophelia urged, rolling her eyes at how slow he was being.

Alaric sighed in defeat and closed the door behind him, leaving with obvious reluctance.

Once he was gone, Ophelia turned to the designer. “You’re more familiar with the project, why don’t you give me a rundown first?”

The designer was still spaced out, standing there in a daze like she hadn’t even registered Ophelia speaking to her.

‘Did that just happen?’ she thought, still in shock.

‘Was our ice-cold boss actually being all soft and clingy?’ she wondered, her mind reeling.

‘Oh my god, did I just witness something I shouldn’t have? Am I going to get killed for this?’ she panicked, heart pounding.

“What’s wrong?” Ophelia called out again when the designer didn’t respond.

The designer finally came back to herself, giving an awkward smile. “Oh, okay.”

Even though she was still shocked and curious about what she’d just witnessed, she knew she had to focus on work right

now.

The two of them quickly got to work, sharing their ideas and inspirations, hoping to create something they’d both be proud

Right then, in the next room…

Alaric had no choice but to return to his room, but even as he lay in bed, sleep was the last thing on his mind.

After a while, Ryan returned and said respectfully, “Mr. Caldwell, Ms. Rowle asked me to remind you to take your medicine.”

With that, he set a glass of water and a pill down in front of Alaric.

Alaric stared at the giant pill, his temples pounding. ‘Seriously? Does it have to be this big?’ he complained to himself.
