Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 64

**Paths Lead To Purpose — Kevin Masters**

**Chapter 64**

A light chuckle escaped Tristan’s lips, a sound filled with amusement. “Can you believe it? Ophelia’s been back for just a few days, and already that Caldwell boy is completely enchanted by her. Quite the spectacle, wouldn’t you say?”

Adrian, caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events, lowered his gaze, a mixture of surprise and contemplation washing over him. “Honestly, I thought he and Zoe were an item already. Seems like Zoe might have been mistaken about that,” he replied, his voice tinged with disbelief.

Tristan’s smile widened, clearly pleased with how the situation had unfolded. “Well, now we have clarity. I’ll have a chat with Zachary later, but let’s allow the younger crowd to sort this out for themselves. Regarding the engagement, we can always call it off to spare Zoe from any embarrassment. I have full faith in Alaric’s judgment.”

Adrian’s eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t anticipated his father suggesting the cancellation of the engagement, but it did seem like a prudent move to protect Zoe’s reputation.

“Understood, Dad,” Adrian replied quietly, absorbing the weight of the decision.

Tristan nodded in satisfaction, a gesture that spoke volumes. “Alright then, I’ve seen everyone I needed to. I’m feeling a bit fatigued, so I think I’ll take my leave now.”

“Okay, I’ll walk you out,” Adrian said, moving to accompany his father out of the bustling banquet hall.

As Tristan made his way out, the remaining guests began to trickle away, their conversations fading into the background.

Meanwhile, in a different part of town, Ophelia and Alaric arrived at the hospital, the urgency of the moment palpable. The medical staff was on standby, ready to spring into action. They swiftly wheeled Alaric into the emergency room, leaving Ophelia standing outside, her heart racing.

As the door to the ER swung shut behind him, Ophelia exhaled a deep sigh of relief. The journey had been smooth, and thankfully, his injuries didn’t seem as grave as they could have been.

Settling into a chair in the sterile corridor outside the emergency room, Ophelia’s mind raced with thoughts, waiting anxiously for any updates on Alaric’s condition. The immediate crisis had subsided, but there were still other pressing matters to address.

With a flicker of cold determination crossing her features, she pulled out her phone and dialed Ella’s number.
