Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 65

**Paths Lead To Purpose — Kevin Masters**
**Chapter 65**

“By the way,” Ella’s voice dipped, a hint of urgency threading through her words. “Regarding the poisoning incident, we’ve conducted thorough interviews with all the staff at Rowle Villa, but so far, nothing has raised any red flags.”

“I took the liberty of digging deeper into their backgrounds, checking into their families and acquaintances. One name surfaced that seems worth further scrutiny,” she continued, her brow furrowing as she recalled the details.

“Who are they associated with?” Ophelia’s voice sharpened, her interest piqued.

She was acutely aware that any individual with the capability to poison could be a dangerous presence within the Rowle family. Time was of the essence; she needed to uncover the truth before any further harm could be inflicted.

“We discovered that Chloe has a distant nephew who is currently studying chemistry at university. However, there doesn’t appear to be any direct connection between them,” Ella explained, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

“They haven’t been in contact for quite some time, and Chloe has devoted years to caring for Mrs. Rowle, so…” Ella let her words hang in the air, unsure if this line of inquiry would yield results, but feeling compelled to share it nonetheless.

“I understand,” Ophelia replied, maintaining her composure. Chloe had already been a person of interest in her mind.

Yet, Ophelia was also acutely aware that Chloe, given her age, would likely not possess the capability to poison someone on her own. Still, the possibility of someone else’s involvement loomed large.

“Let’s pursue this lead and see where it leads us,” Ophelia instructed, her resolve hardening.

“Understood,” Ella affirmed with a nod, her expression mirroring Ophelia’s seriousness.

As Ophelia ended the call, a weight settled on her shoulders. Her thoughts turned to Chloe, who had cared for Victoria for many years, but had also been a constant presence in Zoe’s life.

Chloe had entered the Rowle household alongside Zoe, their bond undoubtedly stronger for it. If Zoe was entangled in this web of deceit, it would make perfect sense.

After a brief moment of contemplation, she added, “Please arrange for a caregiver to stay with him. Money is not a concern. I want the best care possible.”

“A caregiver?” The nurse hesitated, surprised by the shift in Ophelia’s demeanor. She had initially assumed Ophelia was merely a girlfriend, but now she was requesting a caregiver. Nonetheless, the nurse nodded in agreement. “Of course, we have excellent caregivers available.”

As they conversed, Alaric was wheeled out of the emergency room, his expression a comical mix of feigned dismay and charm. He looked at Ophelia, pouting dramatically. “Do we really need a caregiver? It’s just for a day or two. You won’t even stay with me?”

His theatrical display was almost too much for the nurse, who couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sympathy for him.

Ophelia’s lips twitched as she caught on to his playful antics. Unable to resist, she teased him lightly. “Mr. Caldwell, are you planning to take up acting anytime soon?”

She mused internally, ‘He certainly knows how to turn every moment into a performance. Does he ever take a break from it?’
