So she leaned into Una Lowell's ear and whispered, "This girl is the half-sister of a friend of mine. She's fresh out of the countryside. Una, you can't let a country bumpkin step all over you. Look at her shabby outfit. How could she possibly compare to you?"
Una tilted her chin up arrogantly and said dismissively, "I am a Platinum member of your store. I spend millions here every year. I'm telling you to swipe my card. What are you dawdling for? Do you want to lose your job?"
Seeing the Platinum membership card in her hand, the sales associate didn't dare offend Una. She could only say, "Please wait a moment. I will swipe your card right now."
Stella spoke up. "Hold on. I saw this bracelet first. Swipe my card."
With that, she pulled out a Black Card and held it out to the associate.
The associate looked at the Black Card in front of her, caught in a terrible dilemma. "This..."
Anyone holding a Black Card was either incredibly wealthy or highly powerful, and the other lady had a Platinum card. She couldn't afford to offend either of them. What should she do?
Seeing this, Una also pulled out a Black Card and slammed it in front of the associate. "It's just a Black Card. Who doesn't have one? Hurry up and swipe my card. Stop wasting my time."
Staring at the two Black Cards, the associate was completely at a loss. She couldn't handle a situation like this.
She could only say, "Since both of you have your eyes on the same bracelet, it shows you both have excellent taste. Please wait a moment while I call our store manager."
This really wasn't something a mere sales associate could resolve. She wasn't about to act like one of those snobbish employees from a cheap soap opera who judged people by their appearance and ended up fired.
Some wealthy people just preferred to keep a low profile. If she wanted to keep her job, she couldn't afford to insult anyone.
After saying that, she quickly took out her phone to call for help.
