Rhoda thought for a moment before speaking. "All we did yesterday was browse the jewelry store and grab a coffee before heading home.

"We didn't go anywhere else. The only thing that seems remotely suspicious is if that woman who fought you for the bracelet at the jewelry store pulled some kind of trick on us."

Una was even more confused. "With so many people watching? What kind of trick could she possibly pull?"

"Think about it. If there was something wrong with the coffee, we would have just gotten an upset stomach, but neither of us had any digestive issues. We had a nasty confrontation with that woman at the jewelry store, so she's the most likely suspect to target us."

Una frowned. "But I didn't see her do anything to us."

Rhoda grabbed Una's hand. "Una, do you remember? She patted both of our shoulders."

"No way. You're telling me she patted us, and suddenly we broke out in hives?"

"It's highly possible! Otherwise, how do you explain us mysteriously ending up like this?" The more Rhoda thought about it, the more convinced she became of her own theory.

Una still found it hard to swallow. "Didn't the doctor say we probably touched an allergen or some unknown toxin? I really don't think that country bumpkin is that capable."

"Well, I think she's extremely suspicious. We need to watch our backs if we ever run into her again."

"Didn't you say she's from some rural backwater? A hick like her probably won't ever cross paths with elite heiresses like us anyway."

Rhoda nodded. "True. But you never know. We ran into her yesterday, didn't we? We'd better keep our guard up just in case."

"If she really is the one who did this to us, I swear I'll destroy her the next time I see her!"

"Exactly. If we cross paths again, we cannot let her off the hook." Rhoda fully intended to exact her revenge on that little bitch for what happened at the Ember Bar sooner or later!
